Pointless puting out an opinion about Champ(the CB) if all you keep talking about is the team and other irrelavent factors, Chris luva luva. Plus, this is starting to get childish. Too grown. I agree with tcwest10. I'm moving on.

TC you really jogged my memory and no I didn't get to see the probowl sadly. Ur right bottom line he's a bronco now, and we have portis and im happy to have him. I just don't like for a player regardless of the team to be bashed for what in my opinion is unwarranted.

I gotcha, big guy. Nice of you to stand up for one of the best CB's we have ever had, and likely, will ever have. The place wouldn't be the same without you.
We have to try and find a way to talk to each other without having an excellent argument turn into vitriol and misdirected rage.
We're ticked because we lost one of the few bright spots on our roster the past four seasons. Let's root for Champ as a Bronco. I had to do it with Monk when he left in a huff and joined the Jets, and even the Eagles. (I thought it was very classy that he wouldn't sign with the Eagles until all the Washington games were done with.) ((Somehow, in a Champ thread, I got a Monk plug in. Ain't I somethin' else ? :) ))
Oh, man. Imagine if Arrington left ? The house would really be a mess, wouldn't it ?
See you at Camp, bud.

Thanks TC. Thanks for your insight and for stepping in and mediating this before it got too far out of hand. This place wouldn't be the same without you too. I agree with you, he's one of the best, and I guess it got a little personal because he is one of my favorites. I like how you snuck Monk in here, lol.

Champ didn't want to be a redskin anymore and he's gone. I'm fine with that. Didn't Smoot have more interceptions last season? I Know he was covering the #2 receivers, but that shouldn't underscore his value to our team. I see him as our #1 corner this season.

Champ is gone! Why do we keep going on about this? We got someone equal if not better in exchange for him. It would be different if we got nothing in return. Portis will be in the pro bowl next year and be proud to represent the skins. He won't hide his helmet. Champ didn't want to be here..So now he's not. Maybe it was the money, maybe not. But what ever the reason he is gone. He chose to leave, he wasn't pushed out. " The Dan" didn't force him out, we offered what we thought was fair and he didn't accept. we tried, he refused. So in closing I know people will be champ fans, but were supposed to be skins fans first.
3 pages already?...Cmon...how many threads do we need to do about this subject?

Did he shut down everybody? No..... but he was still tops in the NFL at his position......

if he was tops he would have been all pro. I love the guy but he slid in performance

At the risk of upsetting those who said "move on", I would like to add how disappointed I was to see him go. Being in England, I don't get to see the Skins play week in, week out like most of you so I can't comment on Champ's performances. But I was disappointed that he still refused what seemed a fair offer after Gibbs returned.

If he was more concerned about the "state and direction of the franchise", then surely appointing a HoF coach would allay his fears.

Judging by what I read from the players about training camps, mood around Redskins Park etc., it seems that the franchise has got direction and the leadership he wanted. If only he could have waited before jumping ship, admittedly for a lot of money.

I don't understand why people on this board feel it necessary to state that because someone never played football that it makes them less knowledgable about the game. IMO everyone should be able to voice their thoughts without being attacked by fellow Redskins fans. This entire thread is pointless and has accomplished nothing other than bickering.

I played lacrosse my entire life and in college (UMD) and because I never played football...does that make me less of a fan? I think not. People need to agree to disagree without attacking our fellow members.

That's just my two cents.

Huh?

How's Florida? Seen Spurrier lately? I'll be in Miami next week for the holiday weekend. (Just thought I'd break up this pointless thread.)
