I've got to respond to this; I can actually understand it.

I think that the offseason is going pretty good so far, signing Hall and Dockery are definately pluses.

The Haynesworth signing I had some mixed feelings about, but am hoping for the best. I really would've rather seen J.Taylor stay after we got Haynesworth; our D-Line would've been NASTY! Hopefully we don't bust on pick #13 and can get a first year starter to help this team out.

If we could have gotten his caliber of athlete for less it would not be the biggest deal it would be good, so I have to agree because of the market. If his play goes south like taylor and he stinks it up out there then it is not for me to blame the FO.

We now lack depth at the line backer and end position and worst than that experiance. the moves thus far sets the plot for an interesting draft day.

I would not be shocked if they take a dlineman but I would love to get the rookie O tackel and go from there. your right there are about 15 topics one for each transaction. Bottom line vinney weaseled his way into another win win situation and can only put the burden on the players and coaches. I for one will be looking for a big season from zorn, another one of the moves that was in question he signed after the 08 season.

I'd go LB or DE. That's where we are thinnest right now. Of course future FA signings can change things.

I just can not seem to find any linebacker FA that seem to fit, someone mentioned in another post pick # 83 might be the place to get a line backer.
pick13 ot ,,,pick83 LB , FA we could land a gaurd for the OL , ahh with vinny one may never know..... and an end to replace evans and taylor. plus to compete with jackson.

I just hope some of these recently cut players (TO and Roy Williams) make it out of the NFC East... i would hate to see either of these players end up with NY or Philly... not that Williams is awesome, but they are both starters in this league, and would be nice to continue to see a lot of these other NFC East teams fall apart as the Redskins are adding pieces...

FO goes to a handful of veterans to ask them to re-structure (because they were given the big splash free agent contract just a few years ago and now it has balooned beyond what they're worth.) With new cap space, FO goes out on a shopping spree and lands the new, new, big splash, soon to be over-priced free agent to a huge back-loaded contract with split level bonuses and option clauses. The fans are shocked and dismayed for a couple of weeks, then one by one, like union workers crossing a picket line, they come back into the fold to drink a big old glass of Kool-Aid.

At the time, I'll admit, I was for Bruce Smith, but I was never for Deion...

God, I hated that man. I had hated him all the way back to the Falcons. I felt he rode the coat-tails of good teams into the Super Bowl, without actually being all that great. Though you couldn't tell to hear him tell it.

I'm still not terribly keen on Haynesworth, but it was a need. Not the BIGGEST need, but a need I guess none-the-less.

I definately agree with the Hall signing.

I certainly agree with bringing Dockery back.

I felt Springs should have been gone two years ago, and felt the timing was just about right on Washington.

I'm 50/50 on Taylor. I'd have liked to have seen him stay, but felt he owed the team whatever they asked for after having the worst season of his career for $8 million dollars. To be honest, the only loss I see is the same "potential" that he had when he first got here and we all saw how well he lived up to his potential.

I like the fact they are shopping for more O-linemen, and hope like hell they stay as far away from T.O. as possible, though I would like to see them get a starting calibre WR, even if he does only wind up being depth. Who knows, Kelly and Thomas may surprise us this year, but it'd be nice to see someone solid in case they don't.

I think Thrash is done, and is the weakest of the WR corps (yes, even weaker than ARE), but he's a coach favorite, so he's probably not going anywhere.

I really think if they can shore up the O-line, give Campbell that extra second he needs (due to his slow read and delivery) that Campbell actually could get it done for the offense.

I think they should have kept Plackemeyer, and released Suisham. I think Plackemeyer's punts (especially towards the end of the season) were certainly more impressive than anything Suisham did.

I give the Redskins a C-grade thus far as they still have work to do, but at least they are doing it.

I think our division is as competitive in the off-season as during the season. Look at the gnats picking up Canty and ttit trying to right the ship.
Gibbs laid a strong foundation of talent and scheme...now the players just have to step up.

This is true. As much as I hate being thought of as the "Yankees of the NFL", the rest of the NFC East doesn't sit around and wait for draft picks to develop much either.

I personally think the front office has made great moves to try and better our team. Anytime you sign a player you are taking a chance. i like paying for proven talent rather than shell out huge bucks on great college players adjusting to the nfl

Such negativity. I can understand why some people don't think haynesworth was worth the big contract, but he IS a playmaker at DT and that's what we needed deparately. Hall wasn't a FA splash, he's one of the best corners that were available and we resigned him. I don't think Dock was overpriced and he was homegrown, just misplaced a few years while he was humbled a bit.

A lot of poeple were on board from the beginning of this big splash from before FA started, and it wasn't just the blind fanatics. Sounds like some anti-Danny herd rhetoric to me.

Yeah, 7,8 years ago we might have gone after Ray Lewis, Julius Peppers and T.O...

As it stands the Redskins signed three guys 28 or younger one who is possibly the best defensive lineman ever to become available in free agency, one is a 25 year old elite cornerback and one is a top offensive guard who we drafted a few years back and has strong ties to some of our current players.

Do you think that hall is worth $22.5 mill guaranteed though? No doubt he is a very good corner, but he isn't top 5 in the NFL or anything like that. I'm glad we kept him but I wonder if that type of offer was out there for him to get from other teams.

Well, since you refer to me among others, I feel compelled to respond:

1) We will know very soon whether the signing (and its associated cost and record of injuries) was worth the risk.

2) We have a TRACK RECORD of incompetence and failure to stand on.

3) You have the HOPE that good results may possibly arrive yet again for the "next season".

I stand on facts and record. You stand on hope. I like the good people of Missouri, the SHOW ME State of the Union. SHOW ME why I should expect a dramatic change in the results if the modus operandi stays the same!

In the end, it really does not matter what we say MIGHT happen. The results speak for themselves. So far, they have.
