Hall did great for us. The speed he adapted to our system and contributed was applaudable. I'm looking forward to see what havok he can wreak in our 2ndary with a full off-season to prepare. Where exactly did he NOT show he's a starter? EVERY player gets burned sometimes. ST did, Ed Reed did, D Green did. EVERYONE. He's going to do wonderful things. Also consider our D line has gotten infinitely better with Haynesworth. If Daniels can come back strong, we have just done ourselves a lot better. 1 LB and I will have no qualms whatsoever with out D.
...any given Sunday....

I totally agree, Vet. Hall was a priority, imo, and I'm glad the FO got it done. Adam Shefter reported that the Pat's were pushing hard to sign Hall and Adam even said last night that Hall would most likely end up in New England. So again, I'm glad our team got the deal done. He fits great with our defense and quickly established himself last year.

Same. It was starting to sound like he might go to NE or somewhere else. I didnt actually expect him to stay because of all the rumors but I am glad he did. I like our secondary now with him, Smoot, Rogers, Horton, and Laron. Hopefully with Haynesworth in the middle our pass rush will make our secondary look even better than they are

Exactly! it's not like they're scrubs either. Now, how about trying to score some points too? The offense needs a little help too!MDSKINSFAN wrote:Bob 0119 wrote:They had me worried they'd let him slip away. I'm glad they managed to sign him.

You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.
If Hall was to leave, and we were back in the saddle with the "No way I'm restructuring to help out...T.O.'s having a thing after the game" Springs playing his usual 7 game season...I'd be looking for Tryon to be something he's not ready to be.
Thankfully, we are once again the SuperBowl Champions from February to August. I loved seeing D. Hall make his cuts to get upfield after a pick.
Let's not forget Horton, either. Man, this is my favorite time of year since the Squire passed away.

From what I've seen, Hall's strength lies in his ability to read and jump routes... and with a D-line that should now have the ability to press QB's into throwing in a hurry, there should be plenty of routes for him to jump.
I was pleased last year when it was quiet, and there was no real possibility of false hopes being raised... I'm afraid however, that the spectre of false hopes is going to get me again. I'm starting to get excited... I hate that.

Me too, but I'm still holding out and am not excited quite yet. Let's see what else the Skins do to address the offense. Dockery is, I must admit, a solid start to that process.

If the d-line is able to provide more interception oppurtunities for our DB's, that is what will turn this defense from good to elite. Elite defenses score points and aid the offense. A good defense simply does its job and theres nothing wrong with that.
If our offense can somply score a respectable 21 points a game this season, we'll be in good shape I believe.

I'm excited to see what the defense can do. I wont be excited for the overall prospects of the team until we get ourselves a legitimate qb.

Defense is the best part of the game, IMO... I'm thrilled at the possibilities... and, having read the incessant "Doesn't Danny realize he's trashing his team" posts at several other NFC East fan sites, it's clear that they are scared to death.
I'm going to have to give in and let the excitement take over... darnit... this stuff makes life difficult for a curmudgeon.

I really feel that the Hall/Haynesworth/Dockery signings are absolutely the best free agent moves I've seen in years. Each one addressed a specific need. Dockery will absolutely help shore up an aging o-line. Hall is a ball hog and play maker, and Haynesworth is arguably the best defensive impact player in the league ... he's a wrecking ball that will blow up opponents o-line and make everyone on the defense better. There's just no way to quantify how much big Al will contribute to an already very solid defense. He could be the tipping point that moves this defense from very good to great.
Mr. Romo, Mr. McNabb, Mr. Manning, allow us to introduce you to Mr. Haynesworth. You'll be spending a great deal of time together this year!

I think you meant ball hawk. Knowing you, I know this is just a fluke error, but I find it hilarious anyways

And I agree with the signings, especially once I found out about Haynesworth's contract being a 4 year, 48 million dollar deal. Really...that's a great, great contract from the Skins side.
