Bucs cut everybody

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Bucs cut everybody

Post by Bob 0119 »

Surely an exaggeration, but not too far off.

ESPN.com wrote:
TAMPA, Fla. -- Derrick Brooks, one of the top players in Tampa Bay history, was cut by the Buccaneers on Wednesday in a purge of the team's older players.

Brooks, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year when Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl after the 2002 season, was among five players cut, four of them older than 32-year-old Raheem Morris, the team's new head coach.

The others were wide receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, running back Warrick Dunn and linebacker Cato June. The 29-year-old June is the only player under 30 and the only one younger than Morris.

My friend is a Bucs fan and he's pretty depressed about this.

While everyone acknowledges that Haynesworth is a load at DT, they can have him. Haynesworth cannot play alone... and that would be the net effect of him coming here, from what I can see.

Beyond that, I have the feeling that the Haynesworth to the Skins hype is all a smokescreen to divert attention from the FO's real targets. My suspicion is that this is Danny using his rep to play the press and other teams....

at least, that's my hope. Pass on AH, Danny... :-k

We will see in a day or two where this goes...

An AH on any defensive line makes everyone around him better. Carter would have a great year if AH was on our D line.
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

Things got a little off topic in this thread, so I split the posts and placed them in Hogwash:

Feel free to continue the conversation on Snyder's greed there. Thanks.

Thanks for doing that Irn-Bru because it was a good discussion even though it was clearly a tangent.
