Way too young. I'm so sorry for your loss...

THN is going to miss him, too. He really added quality to the board. I really enjoyed the banter, and his intelligent discussions.

Just wanted to let you know that is a brilliant picture of John. We are going to have that blown up and use at his Memorial. For those of you in the Boston area, there will be a Memorial Mass. I will post the information when it is finalized.

Thanks, Michael. I know I've never had the chance to meet you, but John was one of my dearest friends over the past decade since coming to Boston. I actually even framed that picture for him once because I agree, it captures him perfectly.

I also wanted to add that I just spoke to John's other brother, Stephen. He wanted everyone to know that his family is overwhelmed with the outpouring of responses here. Stephen is too distraught to post right now, but he will be doing so at a future date.

John always said that there were two people he would take a bullet for. One was his brother Stephen, and the other was Joe Gibbs!

For those of us not in the Boston area, is there something we can do? Is there a charity or cause John was passionate about that we could contribute to in his name, or something we can do for him here?

As far as charities are concerned, I would recommend any of the Redskin charities on the Redskins.com site. I have the details for the Memorial Mass in Boston, which is as follows: Saturday, February 7 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assissi Church in Braintree, MA, 856 Washington Street, Braintree, MA 02184

JPFair

Post by BubbaFranks »

Like TBH,got to know JPFair when he was in Dublin, and one things that struck you was his love of his country and his love of the Redskins.

I was shocked to hear of his death, and it brought back the memories of the good times we had in Dublin and in Boston.

He was great company to be with, enjoyed life, and was most approachable and friendly in his professional capacity.

To his family, particularly his mother, I wish to convey my condolences and hope they can cope with this sad loss.

I will miss his sense of humour, his irreverent banter and most of all a good friend.

Some of the older board members think we didn't like each other becuase we rarely saw eye to eye when it came to our Redskins, other than JJG. So I'll quote a old friend's Sig (since most that know us refer to us as ex friends)

"Sit back and watch the Redskins.
SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"

Oh, niksder...knock it off. The only people who can say "ex" are you and me.
Who-who-who...who sayed dat? :)
What, families can't argue? This is a sobering wakeup call, brother. I'm so sorry for letting it fester so long, for being so touchy about my rejection from the Mod list...I felt like somebody had taken away my permission to be a Redskin fan, and I envied you. I became jealous, petty and small.
Look where that took me. I banned myself for a year, and missed out on ever conversing with the likes of JP and you, Hellhog, Speek (he doesn't like that, but nobody new will know who I mean) and that cup. That stinking cup.
Never again, 'niksder. Never again.

Anyway, JPFair would have been one of the people I would have enjoyed meeting, had I ever made it to camp. It's a hard lesson to learn and a bitter pill to swallow that I'll never get my chance now. All of the regulars from the first two years of this community, we banded together and stuck up for one another and always treated each other with respect...except in Smack.
JP was from my rookie class, and I will keep him in my sig until somebody posts something so ridiculously sig-worthy that JP would approve my changing it. :)
Can't wait to see what it is...

I have been thinking about JPFair and his family and freinds today.

I am so saddened by this, we all lost a really good guy in JPFair

I joined the 'group' here a month later than John and not long later I met him in Newport at a sports bar - what a really classy guy - John loved his family and his Skins - I thought I was a huge Redskin fan until I met JPFair - He was especially excited about getting Joe Gibbs back on the sidelines and predicted that it would change Snyder - hopefully we will see that day

I understand what a huge loss this is, as I also lost a brother, in 1996 at age 49 and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Fair family

RIP JPFair
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Wow, its been that long since I've been to the site. I'm shocked and saddened to here this news. I never met JPFair in real life but feel like I knew him from years spent talking with him on this site. My condolences.
