America RIP: 7/4/1776 - 1/20/2009

Post by KazooSkinsFan »

Frederic Bastiat: It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder

Winston Churchill: The inherent vice of capitalism is the uneven division of blessings, while the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal division of misery

Alexander Tytler: A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

John Adams: Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.

We survived the British, Germans, Japanese, Islamic Terrorists, but in the end freedom was work, we gave it back. We were a great enough country to have survived Obama. We were not a great enough country to survive having chosen him. Tomorrow is a sad day for the few left who still believed we can run our own lives better then politicians can. It's not about the size of our slice, it's about evenness of the slices. That is except for the elitist politicans who will care for us with limitless power enforced by the guns of government. Their kids won't be in the same schools as yours. They are more equal then you are.

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

America, RIP.
Hail to the Redskins!

I'm no political analyst but here is my take on how this country may move in the next 4 years.

The Liberals: anything goes, gay marriage, criminal rights, open borders, you name it. It's backed by the ACLU. Religious beliefs or NO religion... anything goes.

The Conservatives: Love to call on the name of God. Preserve the Constitution and lean on what the founding Fathers have set up. They give more money to charity and churches - but it COULD be just for show.....

So here's the deal. The Liberals will want everything, open borders, mass amnesty to illegals, gay love in the street and park benches.....

The Conservative will want to HIT HARD and pass laws and legislation to take back the country at ALL COST.

AT ALL COST - even to the point that our inherent rights are infringed upon and SQUASHED perhaps....all in an effort to DEFEAT the culprit Liberals....

Both sides have their ILLS......

What say you.......???

so one person sharpens another.

Today is just more of the same. Nothing special about it.

I totally disagree. As I said I'm not saying that Obama himself is particularly different. But this is the first Presidential election where just an outright play for greed and wealth envy actually worked. It is America itself that is different. The quotes highlighted the reasons why I say that. Yes, we have toyed with capsizing the boat for awhile, but for the first time over 50 percent of the voters said, "I want lawyers who became politicians in the quest of power to use the limitless power of government guns to take THEIR stuff and give it to me." There is no way to veneer that Obama ran on anything else. And America said "yes."

But I see all of this as "more of the same." Not in the sense that things will be just like they were 4 or 8 years ago, but since the only constant is change towards a more oppressive State that's what I'd expect to see more of.

And the import of that is, if you wanted to pick a date of death, yesterday wasn't it. ;)

I'm not sure we're really disagreeing on much. I agree with you the end was inevitable. So is actually hitting it? Crossing from a covert to an overt wealth envy welfare State a milestone or was it when that end became inevitable? And to your point it's been inevitable for awhile and we agree where we are now.

I liked your questions too on Obama actually reducing our endless presence oversees, which we agree isn't going to happen either. He'll just reshuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic. For the Left ending the unending (by definition, mis)use of US Military oversees was never the objective. The objective was for the military to be controlled by the Holy Democratic Party and to subject it's use to the will of the International Left.

Do you think now that the objectives are attained we'll even have any will to even leave Iraq? I think it's time we did that. Frankly if the Democrats would have actually with credibility vowed to be out of the Middle East (and preferably a whole lot more of the world) in one year, I'd have voted for them. Like socialism ends up being no reason to vote for Republicans, use of the military is no reason to vote for the Democrats.

I know we crossed posts, but I picked the date of death, not the date(s) we were in the process of catching the disease. Which is what I meant by this in my original post:

Someone told me today why it's been so cold lately.

Because so many people said it'd be a cold day in hell when we elect a black president!

Nobody gives a crap that he's black except the Democrats who are busy with their hands down each other's pants gleefully "congratulating" themselves. They gave up nothing in any position order to get a marketing tool of their great "open" minds. I'd have voted for a black, gay, Islamic, handicapped, female, drug abusing prostitute if she'd have agreed with me on every position like the lily white elitist East Coast liberals did with Obama.

We're rapidly getting there. We are at the age of the rise of the the Holy Democratic Party and their legions of welfare whores. There's still loot in the treasury to plunder. The fishing boats continued to go out at lenghening intervals as the Democrats and welfare whores continued to use government guns to take increasing portions of their hauls. Comrade Obama ran a campaign promising to meet the ships at the dock and take all the "people's" fish on the spot. The fishermen won't fish and for gosh sakes the welfare whores aren't going to do it.

Not just that, straight up welfare like social security, medicare and other welfare and foreign meddling with our military too. So a Democratic party talking point about corporate welfare's supposed to somehow do what?
