We have to wait and see how things develop...the draft of the three receivers was a good choice. They all fell in our laps. Plus at the time everybody marveled at getting Kelly or Thomas! They will improve...and Davis is a no-brainer...he is going to be a beast for the Redskins...wait and see. It will make our offense even more potent with Cooley serving more as an H-Back and Davis as a true Tight end.

Give it time...

They "fell into our laps" because other NFL teams passed on them. It's fairly obvious now why teams passed on Thomas (very raw, needs time to develop...not what you usually look for in a first or second round player) and Kelly, while very talented, has big time health questions with his knee. I have no problem with using one or maybe even two picks on receivers, but spending three picks on three unproductive receivers just makes the front office look incompetent.

They will improve...and Davis is a no-brainer...he is going to be a beast for the Redskins...wait and see. It will make our offense even more potent with Cooley serving more as an H-Back and Davis as a true Tight end.

Our offense hasn't been potent in years so I don't know how you're jumping to the conclusion that it is going to become "even more potent." As for Davis, drafting him was certainly not a "no brainer." At most he is going to be a backup tight end for us until Cooley leaves. It makes no sense to draft a backup at a position that you are solid at when there are tons of other glaring needs on the team. Look at it this way...in the second round we drafted 3 players that contributed nothing to our team this year. The Colts, on the other hand, with their second round pick drafted an offensive lineman that started 13 games for them this season. The Titans found a pass rushing DT in the second round that gave them 5 sacks....more from a rookie than we got from any of our players. There is a reason why teams like the Colts are competitive year in year out and a reason why the Skins are mediocre every season.[/quote]

Peyton Manning?

Ability to draft well and develop their own players. Check out the Colts' depth chart....

19 offensive players are listed on that depth chart. All 19 of those players were either drafted by the Colts or signed by the team as undrafted free agents.

Peyton obviously makes no difference whatsoever, QBs like him are a dime a dozen

We passed on DeSean Jackson because he was small...thats idiotic. "But G4L we already have small unproductive recievers!" key word unproductive.

Well, you've made the argument so succinctly and defeated any possible counter-argument, how could anyone possibly debate this? Oh wait, I know, because it's a stupid argument. Yes, let's add another small wideout to a team that lacks a consistent red zone threat. The whopping TWO touchdown catches he had would have been the difference maker this season. Hell man, even Randle-El managed to double that.

Speaking of Randle El and Devin Thomas, would anyone else prefer Thomas as PR? Randle El pretty much sucks at it.

I'd put a blind man in at PR before I'd elect to put ARE back there next season.

same here, there was no reason to keep ARE back there. he showed no signs at all of being able to return punts this past season and even the season before that.

May I remind you all how good ARE was at PRs with the Steelers?

I know and I agree that he has not been productive with us in his capacity at PR. But I do wonder if it is only HIM or there is something wider than that, say, Special Teams as a whole?
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

No. Moss went back on his 1st attempt and scored a TD. ARE is garbage at PR and mediocre at best at the WR position. I don't care what he did in Pitt, he aint doin it here. It's not even the lack of TD's, it's the dancing and lack of yardage. He's scared to take a hit. And it pisses me off that NOBODY seems to care on the coaching staff.

Friends of mine who are Steelers fans, when we signed ARE, said "Enjoy the dancing." He did that crap in Pittsburgh, too...he just also scored TDs once in awhile (and interestingly enough, he was actually decent for us in 2006...and dropped off noticeably in 2007 and 2008).
