WHAT'S THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR SCREENAME...?
OK folks,
Just curious about the screenames of my fellow Skins Fans. Here's the story for me. My first name is Judah. It's also a well known name of a Bible character... one of the sons of Israel and one of the 12 tribes. No, not the one who betrayed Christ.......
I'm not Jewish, I'm Pinoy (Filipino)....in case anyone wonders. AnyWHO...
the TribeofJudah sounded like a good screen name. It's also the lineage of a man named Jesus.
Please share how you came about with your screen name.

Fios (and I want to be clear that I beat Verizon to the punch here and am not affiliated with them in any capacity, save that I will be using the service named after me in the very near future) is a Gaelic word which means knowledge. I wanted a unique screen name (so much for that) that was also pretentious (ding!) so there you have it. Also, I'm like half Irish so there's that.
PS I pronounce it Fee-os, not Fye-os like those jerks at Verizon

RIP Sean Taylor

Very cool....at least it's not FEO, which means something not nice in Spanish.

My screenname is a nickname that was given to me when I was 16. I wore a hat (the one tiger woods used to wear) and since my name is Andy, a friend started calling me cappster in reference to Andy Capp. You know, after the guy on the bag of hot fries and the comic strips. The name stuck and I use it for every online game I play and every message board that I am a part of.

When I first joined here, I was talking to Jon Jansen's agent about doing a jansen.com-type site. I had met Boss Hog at training camp that year and he had taken a picture of my son in special redskins overalls my wife made.

My wife saw a picture of BH and said she thought it was the guy that took Jackson's picture. I came here, loved the site, so I joined as jansenfan in order to talk to BH about web design and working together to promote the new site with THN members, who, given the name of the site, I thought would be an ideal group of people to visit a site dedicated to an O-lineman.
Quite obviously, the talks fell through, but BH and I became friends, and the rest is history.
Sorry, that was a lot of typing to explain that I'm JansenFan because I am a fan of Jon Jansen.

Back in the late 80's, early '90s I was going to be the next Olympic swimmer to bring home 8 gold medals. I was great, I really was.
Maybe almost as good as Michael Phelps until I had my tragic accident that fateful January day that cost me my arms and legs.
I'll never forget it. It was Martin Luther King Jr. day (January 19th, 1998), and I was preparing my typical fireworks show (as I'm sure everyone does on Martin Luther King Jr. day) when something went awry.
I was devastated (even now I am typing with a pencil held in my mouth). I fought hard through the grueling years of physical therapy so that I might one day return to my aquatic ambition of world champion swimmer.
Without arms or legs, I should be better, faster than other swimmers as I would have less drag as I flowed through the water.
Tragically, I found that without arms or legs, I had no propulsion. I could not swim, and thus my nickname was born. I would forever be known as "Bob."

Actually my name is Robert Johnson, and my birthday is January 19th, thus "Bob 0119"
I just wanted to have a cool story like everyone else.

Kalamazoo, Michigan, where I'm originally from. I was born and graduated high school there, though I lived in Northern Virgina part of the time and moved to Maryland after that to go to college.
Kazoo is the typical abbreviation used by the locals in Kalamazoo and I'm too lazy to type the whole word out more then once in a great while. Trey coined "kaz" and I like that because it's even SHORTER! I'm considering "z." But I digress.

Any relation to the legendary bluesman?
You know, you are officially the fourth person to ever ask me that in my entire life!
Unfortunately no...no relation.

I've always had a hard time remembering names so I would substitute their name with Hoss if I couldn't remember. I used the term so much that back in the early 80's, all my friends starting calling me Hoss and it has stuck ever since. Damn you Mary Jane.

People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....
~BUT~
they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

I thought it was a Bonanza reference, and then you go mentioning characters from Spider-Man.

Hail to the Redskins!
I was driving home one night back in 1993 or 1994. I heard a news story about how Swathmore college was thinking of changing the nickname of the school from The Garnet to something else. One of the choice's being considered was The WarMothers, an annagram of Swathmore. I liked the name so I borrowed it and have been using it ever since.

Mine is simple. I am a veteran of OEF/OIF. I am also a skins fan. It was a toss up from three major names that I use throughout my online persona: Davedaman, onyoknees, or something veteran. VSF sounded the least offensive and I don't normally use my real name in the virtual world unless I get to know someone personally, or at least as personal as you can get in front of the screen, anyway.
...any given Sunday....
RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.

Mine is really complicated. So, I will not even try to explain it. But I will give you a hint: I love the Redskins and I am -NOT- an American or a resident of the USA.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
