2009 NFL Prospects and your opinions

Post by BurgundyandGoldfaith »

Ok, it's time to look at fixing the problems and this seems like a deep draft for doing just that. Vinny has stated he intends on trading back to obtain more picks so I've noticed a few prospects that stand out to me and I want to know what everyone else would like to see happen in the draft/Free Agency. Assuming we trade down and start with a high second rounder, here are some top flight prospects possibly available.

Phil Loadholtd OT 6'7" 360lbs, Oklahoma

http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/ ... /index.htm

Brandon Carter, OG 6' 7" 370, Texas Tech
(the guy who paints his face like the undertaker)

http://www.jamd.com/image/g/72078261

Louis West, 6' 7" 375, Henderson State
(this guy is probably more like a 5th rounder but I'm definetely in favor of drafting huge guys for the inside, in the Shawn Andrews mold. As strong as they are huge.)

I'm also a huge advocate for going after Haynesworth. There isn't much depth at DT and since our ends don't seem to be going anywhere that's where the change would seemingly come from. Also if Vinny trades back to a second rounder(saving more on the contract size) there won't be any top tier Dline guys. Any ideas?

Also, I just found out that Brandon Jacobs will be a free agent next year and that could be a giant improvement on the O-line even if we didn't draft new players

We need touchdowns

I hate to say it but we need an oline and a TD scoring WR. I think Percy Harvin is going to be phenomenal, I'd like to see us draft him.

We JUST drafted 2 WRs and a TE. I don't think we need another 1st day receiver this year. We haven't even gived the guys we have a chance.

Exactly, we might have one. We need better QB play before we can evaluate them. Our current crop aren't being utilized correctly due to the other issues.

If we draft a receiver I will think Matt Millen is running the show from behind the scenes. That would be the stupidest thing we could possibly do. WE NEED OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE LINEMEN.

It's that simple. With our 1 I would love to see us draft Loadholt. It has to be a tackle. With the 3 it has to be a C and we gotta cut Rabach or I guess keep him as a backup. I like the size of Loadholt. Brandon Carter is pretty good. He is big and I do love that. Similar to that guy from Henderson State but I think we need to focus on the first round pick before we focus on 5th and 6th round sleepers...

God I wish we had a 2...
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

They're going to try to sell our 1st pick and get more. Then they're going to go hog wild for linemen and LB's.

I hope their scouting is good this year.

Until Zorn revamps the running game, we need mobile lineman. I don't know how mobile these guys are, but we've got a lot of pulling plays where the line has to get the lead out.

Well I could bet that the first guy on the list from OU will be gone before the fifth pick in the draft. The second guy from TT is just scary, but too bad he would get fined for the face paint. I know there is a good OL from Alabama too, but I don't know his name or if he is even entering the draft.

I'd like to see us get a DT like Haynesworth or draft one, but our number one need is definitely the O-line.

Agreed...look like we are trading down so we shold pick up a second with that pick we could take LSU G Herman Johnson 6-7 349!! T is deeper in this years draft so I'd take a guard first.

Thats usually the guards not the tackles.

I'd like to draft the biggest giant of a guy for a tackle. Like flozel adams. A DE has to take two extra steps to get around him, even if he's just standing there. Adams is in no way fast, or even that skilled. He's just HUGE with a large reach. DE's have to go along way around, and I haven't seen any DE just push Adams back.

And same for a DT. Just some really big tubby guy that an OL can't just push around. We have to go big. Especially if we can't draft the best lineman because we trade down. If we can't get the best then get the biggest.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.
