Just like the last 5 years you guys have spent rediculous amounts of money...Is it worth it? This means in the future you guys will have no money! Do you really think you guys can win the super bowl in the next 2 years, before you guys go to salery cap hell?
oh yeah...Roy over sean!
Not a great way to make a splash into a REDSKINS forum, but you are welcome (by this fan) to make an opinion. For the most part all opinions are welcome, others are questioned, and the remainder are discarded and blamed on either 1) serious alcohol abuse 2) global warming or 3) being a cowpuke fan.
Seriously, though, welcome to the forum. Stick around; you may learn something or two about THE GREATEST FRANCHISE IN SPORTS HISTORY: The Washington Redskins.

I just had to pull some truth and facts on the whole Roy W VS Sean T. debate
You probably can see the difference between the two players by looking at their college statistics (they each left after their junior season).
Roy had 188 solo tackles and 81 assists Sean had 130 solo tackles and 58 assists
Roy had 29 tackles for loss and seven sacks Sean had 11 tackles for loss and one sack
Roy had nine interceptions and four fumble recoveries Sean had 14 interceptions and no fumble recoveries
Roy had 47 passes broken up Sean had 28 passes broken up
Roy had no blocked kicks Sean had two blocked kicks

1. Ed Reed played at Miami.......hummm wonder how many of his Defensive players were drafted in the first round with him. 2 CB's with him
2. Sean Taylor played at Miami....hummmm wonder how many of his defensive players were drafted in the first round. 2 LB's and one DT taken in the first round with him.
3. Roy Williams.....hummmm how many Defensive players were taken from Oklahoma in the first round or second round with him. 0 in the first and second rd
THIS BEING SAID Safeties Like Taylor and Williams need a good front line to aide them. But Williams did it at Oklahoma with no star players. The facts are there from the stats to the draft.
The blindspot to your post is if you dont have a good front line with good LBs your safeties are left to pick up the crumbs. Lets take a look: Tackles;
Sean is waaaaaay faster and I think he will have better luck staying away from the Burger King drive-thru! Roy is like a Macy's T-day parade balloon, man, he just keeps gettin bigger and bigger! Pretty soon, they'll have him lined up next Laroi Glover!. Mel Kiper said Sean Taylor was the highest rated safety since he started rating players 20 years ago!
As for the cap problems, I'll just say, I think Snyder, because he has signed so many players and been so agressive, has become the the best salary cap savvy owner in the NFL. Every year some yahoo (like good old Lenny Pasquarelli) blasts Snyder for future salary cap problems and we're still waiting for those problems. If he can survive the Deion contract, he can survive anything. he has fielded a decently talented team every year but has had to learn the hard way how to pick coaches and how to work with those coaches. Those problems are gone with Joe Gibbs.

So what you're saying is that Williams had to do it all himself because he had no help from his front 7 but Taylor did have help? So by that logic a lot of tackles were made before they even got to Taylor? Yes, I see, I see how Williams would have made more tackles. That's a good point.
