O Line Possibilities for next yr

We do need a right tackle, big time. Jansen, in this new NFL is average at best. He is getting All Pro money from a few years ago, he is definately a salary cap liability. Most Of these guy's won't take a salary cut, but he should if he wants to finish his career here. Maybe a move to guard would get him a couple more quality years.

also if we traded samuels, we MIGHT get a 2nd rounder for him. You cant replace Samuels with a 2nd round pick.

We've got to go to free agency and big bucks to replace Jansen. We can't replace Jansen and still acquire a major stud at OG with just the draft. We need two OL of extremely high quality. Two.

The sacks, red zone failures, and lack of running game when the old guys get tired have got to be completely addressed. When Portis was stopped with forth and one because Jansen completely blew a block on the far side ought to be red flag enough for anybody.

I don't think anyone has said Jansen is fine. Jansen has been awful this year (especially lately), and is a clear weakspot on the line.

The post you're replying to is referring specifically to someone's insane assertion that we should trade SAMUELS.

I agree. But do you think Jansen might bounce back next year? This is his first season back from his most recent leg injury, isn't it?

Just curious what you thought. Jansen was solid before the injuries, and he's only 32.

As much of a proponent as I was for Jansen, is it time to try Heyer out again at RT?

A thought about Heyer: is he going to pan out? He's been hurt twice iirc since he's been with us. For a young prospect, that's not really comforting. Thoughts on Heyer's future :?:

He may. However, he's had a lot of injuries lately, and really, it's too much of a gamble to go into next season hoping he's going to be fine.

As for Heyer, he's done well as an undrafted free agent pick up. He never really seemed starter material to me anyways; last year they kept a TE near him to help him out...

He was doing fine in the early going this year, and I know for a fact that he is healthy now, and ready to play. He's just waiting on Zorn to bring him in. I don't think he is particularly injury prone, he's just had some tough luck. I thought he should have replaced Jansen a few games ago.
