A great defensive tackle and a faster outside LB than Blades, plus a return to form by Jason would give up a potential great defense-- unfortunately, the weakness of our OL is such we have to concentrate on rebuilding it.

Hall was a great pickup. (Springs could be effective in a backup role and be less likely to go out on injury.)

Yep, he and Carlos are going to want to get paid. Hall deserves more than Carlos and I don't care if Carlos has been here longer. Hall has made a bigger impact in 3 games than Carlos has been able to do all year....sadly... It pains me to say it and I'm a Rogers fan. I supported him when all the retards said he was a bust and couldn't seem to comprehend that the pass rush negatively effected our DB's.

Rogers doesn't scare QB's. Why? The most damage he'll do is bat the ball down. He's not a threat to intercept and QB's will continue to throw passes his way. QB's fear to throw it to Hall because his ability to steal passes from WR's is amazing.

While I love Blades as a back-up LB and a great addition, he doesn't seem to have the sideline to sideline speed that top end MLB's have. He consistently gets hung up in "the wash" and has trouble in coverage. If it was reading plays, I would say you are right, he is a good option as a future starter. But these are physical ability issues that he can't drastically improve (speed / quickness) and therefore, I can't see him taking over full time.

On the other hand, I think Rocky is poised to make another huge leap (if he stays healthy). I think the guy is having a great year and has been a huge surprise. Marcus, while I love him, is gone at the end of the year. He's given it his all and played hard, but there's little left in the tank.

Absolutely agree. Rocky has been very impressive this year, especially coming off his injury. I also see him only getting better. From practice today...

I think if I had to pick the person who stood out most at practice today, it would be Rocky McIntosh. He was all over the place, covering the running back coming out of the backfield, spotting a screen before it developed, and tipping down a pass in the end zone.

I agree Marcus could be gone after this year. Fletch may have a year or two left in the tank and I believe Blades, who is better suited in the middle, will be given a shot as Fletcher's future replacement. We may need a replacement for Marcus however, whether we draft an OLB or find one in free agency.

But back on topic, I'm very impressed with Hall so far. He really seems to fit in nicely and the players and coaches appear to be impressed as well. I believe his role will increase rapidly and he'll ultimately be Springs' replacement.

So can we all agree that while we should resign Hall, the real focus of our attention needs to be rebuilding the front seven... because none us off seemed pleased with them as a whole.

In light of this, if we resign Hall, we need to rework Spring's contract or cut him so we don't have too much money tied up in the secondary.

I hope we are paying our secondary a lot next year because that is what it takes to have a really good secondary. Let me put it another way - would you rather overpay for a really good secondary or just pay a secondary what they are worth and take a chance on not having a very good secondary?

I hope our secondary includes Hall, Rogers, Landry and Horton in it and that we sign the contracts to make all these guys happy to be Redskins.

The term "overpaying" should only apply to players who are not playing near the level of what they are being paid.

The Redskins FO credo should be that "Paying a little more to a player than what he is worth is just good business"

This is so true. The guy makes some nice moves on the ball, but can't catch it to save his life. But if you're a QB why NOT take a shot when you know it's completely safe from being intercepted. The two guys I'd never let hold a baby are Rogers and Betts...
