I received the game yesterday along with my new 22" monitor. The game is not very well optimized and you can tell its a rush job. I average around 30fps at a resolution of 1680x1050 on medium settings. As usual, I will be looking forward to any patch coming through to help correct the situation. And companies wonder why pirating is so popular.
Other than that, I like the game. Its been a couple of years since I played a GTA game and its refreshing to be able to be sinister for a while. Hot coffee anyone?

MOAR RAM! Screw PC gaming, it's too expensive. I'd much rather purchased a closed box (360, ps3) and know it will be able to run every game I buy for it until it's no longer supported.

I love PC gaming although it can be a tad more expensive. If it wasn't for PC gaming, the technology that goes into things like the 360 and PS3 wouldn't be as advanced as they are today. I know that ATI makes graphics chips for both the 360 and Wii (not that Wii pushes the graphic envelope). Luckily, in the case of GTA IV, the community will make up for the shortcomings at launch with some great mods in a few months.

PS3 wasn't even slated to use an NVIDIA chip. It was supposed to use a CELL processor that was tweaked to be a GPU but they weren't able to get it done in time... Thus... They have to pull an "off the shelf" GPU from NVIDIA which greatly hindered the PS3 from being superior to the 360. Typically when a system comes out a year later (the original xbox) it shows by having superior graphics.
