Well, didn't Springs balk at restructuring? I'd love to keep him but he's not worth the money at this point. He needs to restructure and Im sure there wont be a ton of teams trying to overpay for a guy who'll miss half the season.

Springs is just too fragile to be counted on. It is a shame because he is great when he can get on the field. Time to say goodbye to Mr. Springs.

I think he'll stay for that reason. Unless..... Heck he might go to the Giants. I wouldn't be shocked. I think it'll depend on how he feels in regards to us going all the way. He may try to ride it out and take the price cut.

I think that Springs is a great CB but we can not use him on every play. I think he plays harder than his body will allow him too so if we use him correctly, he could be one hell of an asset.

If I'm not mistaking, DeAngelo wasn't released because of any disciplinary reasons, he was released because "Old Man" Davis was throwing money around like peanuts and crackerjacks at a baseball game this past off-season and ended up paying him $8 million for 8 games. So his being put on waivers was a financial move. I don't remember seeing any stories saying that DeAngelo was a bad guy off the field this season. Having said that, everybody knows about his difficulties in Atlanta and the subsequent rumors that he was beaten up by his teammates in the locker room after the Carolina game.

Maybe...just maybe...Mr. Hall has grown up a bit and he has learned from his past mistakes. If he has; and understands that he will be closely scrutinized by the media and fans not to mention team officials; he'll be able to get through the rest of this season and the Redskins sign him to a longer deal.

If not, and he has an attitude and is a locker room cancer, the Redskins say, "Thanks for nothing...bye bye now". What have they really lost?

I hear people saying there are positive veteran influences in the locker room, which is true, but I can honestly say, no matter how good the influence is, the person has to want to change. The transformation from being a "me" guy to a "team" guy has be an intrinsic one, not extrinsic.

I am pumped for the guy coming to us. I think it will take pressure of Rogers...who IMO is not as good as people think..but that is besides the point...Hall will be great for us!

Well, at this point we signed him until the end of the season. With as many pointed out while Springs plays great for us when he plays, he doesn't play way too often and hasn't been willing to give us any release. So it's hard to see how this could be a "bad" move at this point since we have a vulnerability and filled it without a commitment and can decide later whether to make it long term or not AFTER we see how he fits in here.

I like this move. I think we can make him a better player by surrounding him with people that take the spotlight off of him.
I'd already mentioned that he was probably a Redskins fan growing up. This may be exactly the motivation he needed to maximize his potential. It's a low-cost stop-gap measure at worst. At best, we have a legitimate secondary player to disrupt things...something I missed during the Pittsburgh game.

If it doesn't work, all they do is release him. Works for everybody. Hall gets the opportunity to prove his worth, and get the contract on the other side. The Redskins risk only a pittance. Everybody is happy. It's a sound deal.

DeAngelo Hall has found his new team.

The two-time Pro Bowl cornerback signed a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins on Friday, and seems confident he will be in the nation's capital for years to come.

"It's a one-year deal for now, but we'll work something out long-term," Hall told FOXSports.com. "That's why I chose them. I don't want to hit the market in the offseason and have to move my family again this year.

"I really like everybody at the Redskins," Hall added. "Coach Zorn is really cool."

I'll bet this is the first time in his career he has something to truly be happy about and look forward to. I believe he'll work his tail off and tries hard to blend right in with the locker room.

Yep, some folks just don't get it. Trey Wingo said today on NFL Live... "there goes Dan Snyder spending huge money again!" with an added eye roll. We are paying Hall exactly $492,000. Yeah, a real bank breaker.

Yet Wingo, a total tool, I might add, had nothing but congrats when Jerry Jones gave up a 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks for Roy Williams, then went and gave him a $45 million dollar contract with $27 million guaranteed.

This deal for Hall is costing us practically nothing. $492,000 is pocket change in this league. And only if Hall returns to form and blends in well with the team, will he get the big contract during the offseason. The difference being that Hall will have to come in and earn a new contract. That bodes well for the Skins. He knows he will have to step in quickly and make huge plays.

This was a smart move by Snyder. If some fail to recognize the obvious, that's thier problem.

For a guy with DH's skillset this is an IMMENSE bargain, even if he doesn't light the world on fire in his half-season here. At the very least we have another very capable DB who can round out our nickel/dime packages, and a good PR who can spell ARE if not take over for him completely.

And that's the very least. This is win/win for us. Very smart move by the FO. They are finally making the right moves. Now they just need to keep it up -
