Washingpost said:
Taylor, who could not be reached to comment, is now free to sign with another agent, raising the possibility he could choose Carl and Kevin Poston of Professional Sports Planning.

Conspiracy theory...The Poston brothers knew all along that the Redskins would not pick anyone in the draft that was represented by them. What if they promised S. Taylor that they would get him the most money they can out of the Skins if he would just fire his agent shortly after the draft and pick them. The Poston Brothers have a score to settle with the Redskins and what young athlete you know isn't about the money these days.

Natural Born Redskin, I think you're going a little over the edge on this. We really have no idea why he fired him yet, so lets give it some time before we jump to conclusions, but like you, the last people I want to see taylor hire are the Potson brothers.

It is real odd for a player to fire his agent right after the draft. What has or hasn't Rosenhaus done that he needed to be fired for? Taylor's the highest saftey to be taken in 14 years. Looks bad but let's hope for the best.

Theres a thread on the Broncos website that says Taylor has apparently told Joe Gibbs that he dosnt want to be a Redskin and that the Redskins will trade him.

Whats going on?

I dont fully understand the economics of holding out ... asuuming someone was to hold out for a year, they would probably lose some $3million over that year, so if they sign with someone else the following year they would have to get at least 3 mil more to make up the lost ground.

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the web. I would like to say that Sean Taylor will be with the redskins for a long time but i do think that him switching agents like this may mean we are in for a rude awakening.

I think there is nothing to worry about. The Post is just drumming up controversy by mentioning the Poston brother because that will sell newspapers. And everything in Sean Taylors demeanor so far suggests he's a level-headed guy who likes being with Washington. He had some personal rift with Rosenhaus and is simply going in another direction. Plus, every agent brags that they will get the very most money possible from the franchise, the Postons are just less smooth about it. I expect Lavar to fire the Postons (like Smoot did) once he gets this thing resolved.

I agree with Fleetus. We have nothing to worry about. Taylor wants to play and wants get paid. He doesn't want to sit out a year.

Hmmm...Remember LaVar exchanged cell phone numbers w/ Taylor...after practice they had a little talk.

Sike...Portis was a big reason the Skins drafted Taylor. Portis is friends w/ Taylor and surely was the guy that got Taylor signed up w/ Rosenhaus. What player would not sign with Rosenhaus...he is the best agent. Look what Rosenhaus did for Portis...got him out of a $300,000 year contract and made him the highest paid RB, then look what he did for Willis McGahee...the kid had a broken knee and Rosenhaus got him drafted in the 1st round, and we all know what he did with Jevon Kearse...got huim signed up w/ the Eagles to a HUGE contract even though he has not played a full season in 2 years.

So, considering that plus the fact the Portis is good friends with Taylor I am shocked that this happened.

Who knows what is going to happen but someone needs to remind Taylor that Gibbs and all the fans have very high expectations of him on the field and off the field...including the negotiation meetings.

I really hope folks will not read too much into this too soon and start to form opinions before we get to the truth.

Does anyone know why Smoot fired the Postons? And really do we need to know.

We as fans act like these players owe us something in these negotiations

In fairness, don't "We as fan's" keep the stadium filled and the merchandise rollin'so these cats can play a GAME for a livin'? Owe us somethin'? You might say we deserve better than ANOTHER burly, big-hittin', potential-laden, can't-miss star defensive player holdin'out for more money. (For other player of same mold, see: ARRINGTON, LAVAR)

BUT, let's not go too far. It is only the beginning, and we do NOT have all the facts.

Before you run too far with the Lavar comparison, please remember that has constantly been willing to restructure his deal to help the Skins. Whenever Snyder has needed a little help Lavar has stepped up. Samuels for one has not. So, besides the contract dispute, I think Lavar has been a stellar resdskin, has been a developing player and leader. We owe him a mulligan on the Poston situation.

Again, I don't think the Taylor situation is anything other than a player wanting a new agent. Happens all the time.

Taylor wants to be a Skin. I remember the day we drafted him they showed his draft party on ESPN. The guy was unbelievably happy and so were all the people around him. I highly doubt he is doing anything to hurt his relationship with the Redskins franchise, he's just getting a new agent. None of us have to worry about anything....

Never said Lavar was holding out. I said "the Poston situation" meaning, his appeal to the NFL for 6 million dollars "missing" from his contract. We should give him a mulligan because he has been willing to rework his deal several times to help the skins.

I believe BTP was referring to my comment.

I admit, Lavar has made it easy to sign other players by restructuring his deal, and he is allowed to be excited by having another player in Lavar's mold (size, speed) in the secondary. I was trying to make a comparison between Lavar's most recent rift with management over his contract (everyone knows the details) and Taylor's "interesting" move.

Prayerfully, Taylor doesn't hold out, we have a bangin' defense this year, and we hoist the Lombardi trophy in february down the ol' parade route.

I must add...

While Lavar's productivity has lessened the blow of being the worst defense in the league, he has not convinced THIS fan of his being something other than a freak of nature with a loud mouth, who has yet to live up to his hype.

Maybe this year he can ask his agent to rework his deal again so (if Taylor chooses the Postons) we can meet the outrageous demands of paying the "Muhamad Ali" of the NFL (the Postons, you can bet, would say something to the likes  ).
