Perdictions and grades for next year's starting lineup

This is just my opinion no one else. What do you all think?

D-line- Griffin,Noble, Wyn, and UDFA (I forget his name). Grade is a D
LB- Arrington at Wlb,MLB is Barrow, and SLB is Washington. Grade is an A
Secondary- Springs and Smoot at Corner. Taylor at Free and Bowen at strong. Grade is an A
QB- Ramsey. B+
TB- Portis. A
TE- Rasby I will give him a B because he is used only for blocking.
H-back- Cool

ey I would give him a B.
O-line-Samuels,Dockery, Friedmen,Thomas, Jansen. A
WR- Coles and Gardener a B+.
Kicker- John Hall A
Punter Tom Tupa- B
KR and PR- Morton A
A lot of people might ask why I give high remarks, but if you want to know my reasoning just send a response and I will tell you.

I see Raymer as the starter for the O line. Daniels will start on the D line. Here are my grades.

D-line- Griffin,Noble, Wyn, and UDFA (I forget his name). Grade is a D

Punter Tom Tupa- A- (because he is Hall's favorite Holder and a Threat to throw it.)
KR and PR- Morton B-

D line C- we can run stop, and we have experience but we need one great pass rusher on the other side of Arrington on passing downs.

I believe our D-line is going to be better than people think. Spurrier from what I understand didn't even know the defensive players names. I think Gibbs and Williams will pull the best out of all the players. We may not have a front four like Carolina, but I think we will be alright at the D-line.

Hey Brandon777, I think we're desperate for a pass rusher on the defensive line. Other then that I would say our line is good. The reason why I'm saying desperate is that Williams is putting a linebacker on the line to rush the passer. It would be so much better if you had a pass rusher on one side and then could blitz Arrington on the other side or even on the same side. That would be pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only time will tell if one of the defensive ends can develope and become that pass rusher we need.

Thats my two cents.

This smacks of grade inflation at its worst.

It would seem to me that in order to receive an A, the unit must be in the top 6 in the NFL. The next 6/7 would receive a B and so forth.

I would grade like this.

DL - F One of the six worst in the NFL.

LB - A Strong group if Arrington plays within himself.

DB - D Grade could improve to a B if Taylor is as advertised.

QB - C Brunell's a middling QB

RB - B While Portis is top 6, the fullback/h-back situation lowers the grade somewhat.

TE - D No one on the roster is even average

WR - B Coles makes this group above average

OL - D Thomas was the only above average player of group last season. I realize that many are placing their faith in Arizona Joe to resurrect Samuels, but even if he does, Jansen's average at best, Raymer's below and Dockery's one of the worst starting guards in the NFL.

K - A Hall's one of the best

P - C Tupa's a solid vet but lacks the booming leg.

d line: D minus, the weakest part of the time

Running backs: A, portis is great plus if you remember candidate was a great back up in st. louis, we also have betts

TE hback- C minus, all we have is blocking TE, and a unproven rookie, if cooley ecxels it might raise

QB- solid B, Ramsey and brunell combine to make a good qb dandem

WR, B+++++, Lots of depth, but wouldnt yet put coles with the elite wide recievers like harrison, moss, holt, and owens

oline- B+, have the potential to be one of the best in the league, with a new scheme this year they should bounce back from a bad 2003 showing

linebackers- A, Just about as solid as you can get at the linebacker position, Backups like pierce show some promise

Dbs , b minus, Smoot is solid in pass coverage, but can springs stay healthy, also we need to remeber that this is taylors rookie season, hes going to make alot of mistakes

Kicker- A, Hall has a great leg, can make the long field goal

KO Punt Return, A Chad morton is great and always a threat to take one back

punter, C, tupa is solid but is getting pretty old

ey, the TE who led the NCAA in receiving does well and adjust to the NFL B
WR- B+ If Gardener and Thrash does well A
OL-A The only thing that was wrong with our O-line last year was abysmal coaching. With Bugel our line will be excellent.

Do you even watch football, or did you just steal that Dallas jersey from the lost and found?

Brunell is one of the top 10 QBs in the NFL when healthy, and Ramsey is an average starter.

LB - B Highly touted, but we've been there before. Arrington needs to learn coverages for this to be an A.

DB - C+ If Springs is healthy, and Taylor plays up to his potential this could also be an A

QB - B Brunell is good. Ramsey will be riding the pine for a few years.

RB - B Portis is great, but injury prone. Backups are subpar.

TE - C- No-name blockers

WR - B Coles and McCants are good. Gardner is terrible.

OL - B This group will make HUGE strides this year. Jansen and Samuels will thrive in next years run oriented attack.

K - B Hall has a big time leg, but accuracy can be problematic.

P - C Who cares?

Hey Dallas fan or whatever your name is. First off Mcants and Gardener are both good. Gardener has already had a 1000 yd recieving year, Mcants breakout year last year. Brunell and Ramsay aren't average players at all. Last years D-line was an F. But they added some okay players and they get at least a passing grade. A D. Smoot is a good corner may not be elite and so is Springs. With Taylor he makes it an A. He is going to be the next Ronnie Lott and not only that Bowen will have a breakout year playing run support. If you knew anything about the Redskins offense it is a two tightend system (If you read it correctly I graded the H-back seperatly from the running back). The rookie is unproven but he will be a good player in this league. He has great hands, nasty blocker and good speed for someone his size. Rasby is a very good Blocker and that is what Gibbs uses his pure Tight end for and that is why I gave him a B and not a C-, because of the system he is playing in. Is Rasby a good reciever? no, is he going to recieve? no, in Joe's offense its an extra blocker. The O-line looked like crap but they had a crappy coach. Bugel will make them into one of the leagues best. Bugel also said we have 3 pro bowl material O-lineman on this team and another two quality starters. He knows what he is talking about. "We are brining back The Hogs" If he said The Hogs are back, than you know what, Bugel knows what he is talking about. By the way your a Dallas fan I really don't care what you think. Portis isn't injury proned. Didn't he miss just three games in two years?

He got hurt at the end of this past season. He is a litle small, and I have concerns about his toughness. I guess we'll see.

I still think you guys are underestimating our D-line. Your all judging them on last years performance. If that was the case, every player except for Coles would suck and get D's and F's. Nobody last year played to their potential. Every player looked lost. Thats because they were the victims of a failed experiment by college coaching. We don't have a super star DE with a flashy name, but I think we'll be really good at stopping the run, which I feel is more important. No one will no for sure until the season starts.

You question his toughness? The guy will run smack in the middle of the D-line and fight. Did you even see him run?

So on one hand we have someone giving an honest opinion that can be backed with facts and on the other we have someone grading their own team's defense higher than the top ranked unit in the NFL last year.

Seriously, even you can't believe the stuff you type.

Realistically looking at the two team's defenses, the only Redskins that would start on the Cowboys would be Arrington and the better of Smoot/Springs, while there's a legitimate argument over Nguyen vs.Barrow.

I promise you that if Dallas had Spurrier and the rest of our coaching staff you guys would not of had the #1 defense. If the Redskins had a good DC and OC last year, we would of done a lot better. The Redskins had several games won last year but the defense crumbled in the 4th Qt and gave up our lead. That was because they were on the field 75% of the time and were exausted. This could be blame on no running game. The Fun and Gun would result in sacks and punts. Things are alot different now.

It's your opoinion, and your on a freakin redskin site, if you dont like feedback you dont agree, with then dont post. I agree with some of what you said about the redskisn but your oponion is obviously biased, your a cowboy fan posting how you grade the redskins on a redskin website. Plus, realistically, our Oline is much better than a "d" even thoough we played like one last year. you said Dockery was one of the worst starting gaurds in the league, he was a rookie adjusting to the NFl, give him time, and as for jansen he's much better then your best tackle, every team in the league would love to have a guy like jansen for the way he conducts himself on and off the field, pure class.

the redskins offense looks a lot better than the cowboys offense. portis dominates hambrick and julius jones, who is known to fumble the ball too much. the redskins have two qbs that are better than quincy carter. michale barrow is a lot better than nguyen, who is injury. the redskins also have a better coaching staff!

I'll agree with most of the other grades but I tend to agree with Brandon777. I don't think our Dline is going to be great by any means but I think they can be given a C. Plus, we have an extremely solid coaching staff that will find ways to get at the QB this year. Last year, the coaching staff was inexperienced so they didn't know how to maximize talent where needed. This year, it will happen and the results will be night and day.

Taylor was the best choice we need someone who will strike you. Arrington has to become a star, he's paid like one now he has to make plays.
I hope Gibbs is in charge of personnel decisions in the future and we stop paying players from past performances on other teams.
We need true Redskins those that are proud to be there not those looking for a paycheck from a spendthrift owner.
ps. Snyder seems to be doing better.

OB's- B+ if Ramsey starts/ Stays healthy
RB- A, Portis is easily a top tier RB
H-Back- C+, We'll have to see how Cool

ey performs before we can make a fair assessment
WR- A, I think Coles/Gardner is one of the best reciever tandems in the league
O-Line- B+, Depends on how well Dockery does
D-Line- F, The only talent here is Griffin
LB's- B+, Depends on how Marcus does
Secondary- B, Unless Springs stays healthy then it'll be an A
Kicker- A, John Hall is crazy
Punter- C+, Tom Tupa doesn't have much leg strength... Still an upgrade over Barker though
