Predict the Final NFC East Standings and the Playoff Teams
I hate to jinx the Skins, but I think it's fun to prognosticate about the playoffs.
My prediction for the NFC East:
Redskins: 12-4
Giants: 11-5
Cowboys: 9-7
Eagles: 8-8
NFC Playoffs: Bucs (13-3) (1), Redskins (2), Cardinals (11-5) (3), Packers (8-8), (4), Giants (5), Panthers (10-6), (6).
Playoffs: Round (1): Cardinals over Panthers, Giants over Packers
Playoffs: Round (2): Redskins over Cardinals, Giants over Bucs
Playoffs: Round (3): Redskins over Giants
(I can't have the Skins lose )
Other predictions?

Don't do this man, retract, retract, retract! I am figting the urge myself since every time the Gnats win a SB the Skins win the next year but we need not make bold predictions or else the Karma Gods will bring their fury down upon us.rbrhett wrote:I hate to jinx the Skins, but I think it's fun to prognosticate about the playoffs.

I didn't say the Skins would WIN the SB; I am only saying they will get there. I almost had the Giants beat the Skins in the Championship Game, but I couldn't put that to paper.

This is us winning the rest and everyone else losing the rest (not possible, I know, but I also do not care because this whole thread is "fantasy")
Wow, you have them even both losing when they play each other.

I love it!

Hail to the Redskins!

As much as I'd like to see it, based on talent, I can't see us finishing ahead of the Giants in the division. I think we have a great chance at a wildcard. I also have difficulty believing that the Bucs are good enough for a 13-3 record, meaning that they'll go 8-1 the rest of the way.

The ONLY area that the Giants are head and shoulders above us is with their pass rush.
Offensively
Jason > Eli (thus far this season)
Portis > Jacobs
Giants WR > Redskins WR
Skins Oline = Giants
Boss <

Defensively
Gmen dline > Skins line
Gmen LB core = Skins LB core
Gmen secondary < Skins secondary
The Giants barely beat us in a game where we had no direction. Eli has looked shaken in the past few games. Their secondary is getting scorched as teams learn to slow down their rush. They are very beatable.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

After looking at the Bucs schedule, I think it is highly possible they could go 8-1 if they beat Dallas this week, and I think they will. Their remaining games are @KC (W), MN (W), @DT (W), NO (W), @CAR (L), @ATL (W), SD (W), OAK (W). I could see them losing maybe two of those games, but they are playing great football and the D is going to keep them in every game.

interesting thing about predicting games based on talent - these people cannot beat JansenFan - but then, he has a secret weapon that will beat people who pick games based on talent level every week - he uses the random selection choice

It would be nice to know that talent will win but that just does not seem to happen - take a look at Detroit - they get to pick the best talent available and cannot do anything with it - all that talent in Dallas sure helped a lot last 2 weeks too

No - I cannot really say that talent is that important in predictions - the teams that are winning like the Titans and Redskins are playing better together and that is what determines game NOT TALENT
you know it really is simple have a very good running game and be able to stop the run - there is nothing in the Potential for Success book on the NFL about having a good passing game or having a good pass rush - just does not seem to be that big a factor

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I got us at 12-4 or 11-5.. I can't call the others though. During the preseason I thought we'd go 7-9 or 6-10 so they've gave me joy already *knock on wood*. I hope we get the division title but I'll be happy with any kind of shot at the playoffs. That NFC South is shaping up like the NFC East so that's a lil bit scary though.

That's assuming that they win all the games they SHOULD win (ask the Redskins about that), plus all the games that might be tough - NO, Atlanta in Atlanta, San Diego. Sure it's possible, but they have to play great ball almost every week to do that.

My only prediction about the NFC East is the same as it was before the season - the NY giants will be in 4th place - I have not seen anything to change my mind about that
Well "the time has come, the walrus said ... " I must admit it looks like a lot of my predictions ... well, the giants are not the worst team in the NFC East - this year it very much looks like that distinction will be solidly held by the eagles
these guys are presently trailing the Bungles now I know that the game is not over till .. well it's about the way they are playing that has me convinced this team will end up in the basement of the East.
btw - I just heard a comment, after another Eli Manning interception - "when he makes plays like that you kind of wonder ... " I still think this guy is not a big time QB - he makes too many mistakes to be a QB that you can depend on
Eli and that idiot coach with the beady eyes that are too close together deserve each other
GO SKINS - BEAT THE COWBOYS

Impossible. The game would have to be tied to go into overtime.
Back on topic, I made my predictions back in July.
