I've never been a huge Favre fan ...

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

... and this doesn't help things at all.

The bitterness between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers was never in debate. Just how deep that went, or continues to go, is unclear.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Favre called the Detroit Lions' coaching staff earlier this season to share what he knew about the Packers' offense. Glazer went on to say on the Fox pregame show that Favre spent more than an hour on the phone. (For the record, the Packers beat the Lions, 48-25, on Sept. 14.)

If you are inclined to defend Favre here (and I'm not) just imagine how you'd react if this was an ex-Redskin. What a jerk.

Not saying I think it happened but I totally agree - that is not something anyone should do to their "old" team - that being said, it is ony reported to have been as Glazer reported it
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Favre seems like he can be a arrogant jerk when he wants to. this is a messed up thing to do after the organization treated him so well for 16 years. Its just wrong

This happens all the time. The Redskins have signed players and gotten info from them and vice versa. I think the issue here is the maliciousness behind it! LOL

It's not like he is telling the Jets about the Packers, but a division rival. That would be like a former QB of our's calling the Giants to tell them our gameplans.

Exactly and in addition that, it's one thing to try and stick it to your former organization by beating them, this is also a big screw you to the Packers fans, the very people who demonstrated nothing but loyalty to this guy.

This is different. This is a man who became famous as the long time QB of the team, whom, you would think, would want to go into the Hall as a Packer... If true, this is really messed up, in a vindictive adolescent kind of way.

I'm certainly as tired of Favre as the next guy, if not more so -- but this is alleged by one individual thus far. Until someone else comes forward and corroborates this story, I'm going to hope it's not true.

Because that WOULD be messed up if it is.

Favre hasn't bothered to deny an item that's been in the news since Sunday afternoon, that non-denial (thus far) speaks volumes

Others say it's happened

Wisconsin State Journal wrote:Two league sources said Sunday they had been told of Favre contacting the Lions last month, before Glazer's report. One said the report was "absolutely" true.

Was this before or after he un-retired?

Does it matter?

What do you think Peirce did?

I think this happens more often than you think. I don't agree with it, but I bet it happens all the time.

Good thing we don't play the Packers, Frosty might tell them how we cover punts.

Yes, but Pierce plays for the Gstrings. Not the same at all.

When you lose a current player to a division foe or to someone you'll be playing, that's fair game. When a former player who you traded AT HIS REQUEST goes out of his way to aid a team that he has absolutely nothing to do with, it's below-the-belt.

The Packers offered him 20 million dollars for blogs, guest appearances, and other stuff after he is done for the Jets. With 20 million dollars sitting on the table why would he do this? I don't believe it for a second.

Not necessarily. It's a pretty extreme accusation. I don't agree that if it's not true ignoring it as a stupid report isn't the way to play it. But I agree IF it's true it's gone to far, but I don't consider it "fact" based on anything I heard. If true though, then I'd consider him as bad as the Packers.

Favre has denied these reports - this is just looking like someone is trying to discredit Favre - who could do such a thing? Oh no!

Favre is dumb as hell, they were going to offer him some 20 million deal after he was done in New York, I am sure they aren't going to do that anymore. With his Restaurant in Green Bay, I am sure no one is going there anymore. What an idiot. I thought this was a bs story because of what Brett has invested there. but I guess he isn't too bright. But to be honest I am not sure what he did was that bad. If this is true, "I didn't give him any game planning," Favre said Wednesday. "I haven't been in that offense in over a year. I don't know what else to tell you. It was pretty simple."

It really isn't a big deal, happens all the time. Detroit would need a lot more than a gameplan to beat anybody. Favre only has info about stuff from last year and beyond. There is film that could say the exact same stuff favre said.

No, it doesn't happen all the time, if it did this wouldn't be worth reporting or, in Favre's case, denying
