Down the stretch we won't be able to beat teams if our offense can't score more than 14 points. We need to come out firing on all cylinders. This game was waaaay to close for comfort. Don't think that Detroit is a slouch, they are capable of beating our beloved Redskins if they come out and play like they did again today.

The defense is good but it's not good enough to withstand some of the recent positions offensive turnovers have left them in. I think our defense has played well enough to win the last 2 weeks. But defensive mistakes are amplified by a lack of scoring and offensive mistakes.

This needs to be corrected and FAST.

I like the 5-2 start, and I like the fact that CP is taking care of business, but we aren't THERE yet, we still have a long way to go. The only game we need to concern ourselves with now is Detroit.

Too close for my liking, but a W at the end is all that matters to me. A Skins W and a cowgirls L makes any Sunday a bright and happy one.

come on...best free agent signing???? it was Neon Deion! LOL

Nah not even close. It was Bruce Smith, a MONSTER PASS RUSHER, that was over teh hill and two steps slower....

What? No love for Mark Carrier?

Anyway, back on topic. Everybody is wanting us to win by "more"! I agree that games like this make me nervous, but aren't these Browns the same team the beat the G-Men, held them to 14 points last week? Maybe this game was supposed to be this close? Can't ask anymore from the D and from CP than what they qave us today. Obviously we are still a work in progress. But being 5-2 as we work our way through the schedule is pretty good. Better than what a lot of people predicted. Could be better yes, but let's take the "W" today and enjoy it.

the main reason the last two games were even close was because too many drives failed early. We lost field position, time of possession, points. Gotta at least try and mix it up to get past the 50. The run run failed pass 3 and outs have to stop.

Careful there, apparently we're not allowed to point out deficiencies with the team and if we do, we're not REAL fans.

We've gotta stop holding on offense too. We were called 3 times today and all 3 times it killed the drive. This offense has a tough enough time finishing drives without shooting themselves in the foot.

Not when the Skins had multiple opportunities to put the Browns away and failed to do so. The Skins had all the nails but one in the Browns' coffin for about the last 6 minutes of the game and they couldn't get that last nail in. A great team would've finished the game after the goal line stand by running out the clock.

Sucked is a bit harsh. I'd say the D is rock solid except for very late in the game after they're probably getting tired (which wouldn't be an issue if the O was putting as many points on the board as their stats suggest they should be). The offense is racking up a lot of yards, but they aren't finishing drives. Portis is the man and is basically carrying the O every week. We need more production from the rest of the O. Also, I think Zorn is starting to get a little conservative with the play calling late in the game. I noticed earlier in the year he was staying more aggressive with the play calling late in games and it was helping the team to seal the win. The last few games he's gotten more conservative late and it's making for more dramatic finishes. He needs to stay aggressive.

Moss regarding his SPIN move for the TD:

“I pretty much go all-out. It’s either me or him, and I was not going to take it head on, so I did the best thing I knew how to do--and that’s spin.”

Sucked? Give me a break. The Browns totally jacked up the Giants last week, 35-14. They're a decent team who came in here with some confidence.

What did Derek Anderson finish? 8-30 for 97 yards or something like that? (I'm just guessing but I know it wasn't much.) Our defense was all over them and Portis took care of the rest.

Sucked. Whatever. Some of you guys need to learn to enjoy a win. If you wanted to see a team sucking you should have watched the Cowboys get it handed to them by the Rams.

That was sucking.

I think if we win by 1 we will still be 6-2

well I guess that should quieten down all those who had us at 4-12 this year
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Sometimes your defense has to bail your offense out, our defense did that today and our offense did just enough to win.

Teams aren't going to be perfect every game. What matters is that we pulled out the win. In previous years we probably lose this game. The Browns are not as bad as some people make them out to be and in the end a W is a W. My only real complaint is the pass rush, which continues to flat out suck.

it was better this game, they only had 1 sack but they how many times did we knock anderson down? how many times did we hurry a pass? how many times did we knock down a pass?

The pressure that we got on Anderson today was mostly the result of blitzes. Our dline was unable once again to generate a rush.

Yes, it seemed like we blitzed every down against the Browns. God, if we only had a dominant DT...

I really think that the offense is having a harder time picking up the passing scheme than we earlier believed. We've been very fortunate that our running game hasn't had any major hiccups; losing Betts for the month is the worst thing so far. IF CP goes down (God help us all), THEN we'll see where the rest of the team is.
