A pass rushing DE is available

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

A pass rushing DE is available

Post by SkinsJock »

I saw a special on ESPN (E60?) on Simeon Rice - I know he is 34 but this piece showed him to be in pretty good shape - he had been injured but he has put in a lot of time re-conditioning and where he could not bench press 200 - he is doing 250 x 26 now - the piece made it out like he wants a chance to play again - does anyone know what is behind this guy not getting an opportunity to show what he can do - he used to be a pretty effective pass rusher :?

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

We don't need any more DE's. We need DT's that can get a passrush up the middle. Thats what our focus needs to be.

Agreed. We need to be able to collapse the pocket; push the guards into the backfield

Yes because our DE's are generating pressure but the lack of rush up the middle is allowing QB's to step up into the pocket and make the pass.

Yes, pass rush up the middle, also called the "flush" is what we need. Instead of drafting a punter in the 6th round, we should have looked for someone who was going to be in the game more than just on punting downs.

I will admit that after Brooks was drafted, only 2 or 3 DTs were picked up, but I would rather have signed a punter as a free-agent and drafted some DT depth.
If you're mad at your kid, you can either raise him to be a nose tackle or send him out to play on the freeway. It's about the same. ~Bob Golic

not too sure what that has to do with the question - I have amended the title as I totally agree with the point about where we need help but this guy must have some baggage apart from his age - he used to be a force and he looked very good on this piece - but then his agent probably did a good job promoting the story line to ESPN

i saw the piece, and he is an ego maniac....

plus lets be honest this is a league that will keep guys if they can play no matter what (see pacman) my guess is that there is something that the NFL people know that the general public does not....

ill pass, just like all 32 teams do every week.....(according to what they said on the E60)

Thanks for the info NJ - I would agree - there is no way a guy that might help your team doesn't get a shot except if the FO guys think he might be more disruptive to their team than to the opposing teams offense.
