I will have to join Mezz as my rant was not directed at Zorn and this team but moreso at Danny and Vinny for the lack of continuity within this organization as a whole.
I heard something interesting this morning from Riggo, Andy P. and Sheehan on the Mon. Morn. QB show on 980. That was that maybe this team has finally matured and that Sean's death (R.I.P. 21) may have been the thing that has helped this team mature into what we are seeing now. They look like they have been in this offense and defense for the past 5 years with the same coaches.
My angst was not with Zorn but more so with management and the lack of continuity that they have been showing. I guess we've got "lighten' in a bottle" with Zorn. Also, it seems that the dust up between Clinton and B-Mitch has got Clinton really focused and on a mission. Maybe that little "tat-a-tat" was what the doctor ordered because right now, you have to start talking about him as possibly the best back in the league. If he continues to rack up 100+ yard games, he's a shoe-in for some type of award.

I ain't buyin it. The defense is practically the same with Blache and the running game is the same. Our X factor is that JC is progressiing beautifully. I can buy that ST's murder was a significant factor for last year's playoff run, but not for this year. That's taking credit away from this team and what JZ has brought with him.

the defense has elevated play from the CB's, carlos is playing great, smoot is meeting expectations. And that they are playing up on the recievers, I watched the Jags game, their version is horrible. Horton's a Gem and Landry's a beast, it's a bit of a wash there coz we had the luxury of #21 for a few years. If JT comes in and starts getting pressure, man it will elevate everyone even more.
#21 (36) This IS and will always be the High watermark where all new DB's are measured.

I think his death has helped in a way. I don't believe he's out there helping us of course, lol but I do think that his death was sobering. Seans passing caused some guys to "wake up" and realize that their time on this planet and in the NFL is limited.
If his death did anything for this team it gave them a sense of urgency and commitment day in and day out. I'm sure that they approach the game, practice and work ethics differently.
But thats just a portion of a greater whole.

I would agree, but I also disagree. Sean Taylor is definitely out on that field! His spirit is very strong...even through the television.
"It's almost like, you play a kid's game for a king's ransom," he said. "And if you don't take it serious enough, eventually one day you're going to say, 'Oh, I could have done this, I could have done that."

We'll have to agree to disagree. I see that angle as a discredit to the ethic of the individuals and as a whole of the Washington Redskins. It sounds like a freakin Lifetime movie...

Well, going back to last season, we've won 8 out of our last 10 games. That's a pretty good stretch.
We also lost a playoff game.

I don't think it discredits them, I'm not saying his ghost is on the field making plays. I think it's in their credit that they matured and grew from his passing. It takes maturity to be able to grow from that and not just be bitter and angry from it.
Moss and Portis always speak about how Sean's passing his altered their lives and it goes deeper than football. They talk about realizing that nothing is promised and time is short and that is being applied in their lives. Both Clinton and Moss worked harder this off-season than ever before. I believe it was partially due to everything that happened last year.

That was one of the two losses. In the regular season, we're 8-1 (last 4 2007, 4-1 2008).
Buffalo = 1
Seattle = 2
G-strings = 3

Yea, it's 8-11, but that's still dominant, oh, don't forget about a new coach, a new quarterback, learning a whole new offense and losing your d-coordinator during the middle of that stretch.
He still lives on in this team.
Miss you 21

Of course his closest friends will reflect on him, but to the team as a whole, I don't see it as significant. It may be a factor, but I like to give Zorn a lot of that credit. This is still a different team from last year IMO. JC's change is the x-factor, and I attribute that to JZ. Without JC managing the game like he is for the first time this year, we surely wouldn't be 4-1, we'd more closer ot 2-3 or 1-4.
