There is a great article about Lavar and why the city has so much love for him. Lavar really seems like a great guy its a shame things didnt end better here for him. But hey check it out its a great read.

It's opened. Called "Sidelines" at Cap Centre Blvd. where the old Cap Center used to be. I haven't been yet but plan too. Heard it was pretty nice....

He is opening one here in State College, Pa as well. Not sure of the name. Everyone loves him here. They still show that play against Illinois, where he leaped the line to sack the QB, during the pre-game pump up videos.

I'll speak on behalf of the "streets" so to speak.. during the summer time when I was down Barry Farms for the Goodman League Basketball program, Lavar was not only down there almost weekly but he would always have his girls that work @ Sidelines come on down as well. The guy was there signing autographs, taking pictures, speaking with everyone, and he was even talking trash with some queerboy fans too. I had the oppurtunity to speak with the guy and he told me straight up that he really never wanted to leave the Skins. I said I know I know, and believe me, we never wanted you to go. Anyways though, its small stuff like that example that keeps me liking him.

Besides, he ended Aikman's career and for that he'll always be a Redskin in my eyes.

DC still loves Lavar because the dude deserves the juice.

I've said it a thousand times at THN - the guy is just a straight up good person. As a matter of fact, I've flat out argued with dozens of people about the 'misconceptions' surrounding him and his tenure here.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, gave as much of himself to the fans as Lavar did while he was here.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to try and contact him and see if maybe we can help support the restaurant...
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Is the restaurant open? Imma have to go there often. Ray Ray's restaurant is always empty and it sucks.

Lavar didn't handle some of his situations correctly, but thats no reason to hate him. I think he was a good person and played hard. He did play well to, sure he made his mistakes but I think overall he played well here. I think what he did can be forgiven I am glad things are working out for him.

i think the reason D.C. still likes him is because he is a nice and likeable guy, even if he wasnt the greatest player we've had
