Watching Zorn's press conference and he said Taylor will be out vs the Cowboys with a problem in his calf.

Jason Taylor will be sidelined at least one game after he underwent surgery early Monday morning to repair a calf injury.
He suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's 24-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He was kicked in the calf during a play.
Taylor appeared to be fine coming off the field after the game. His calf swelled up later on Sunday night, though.
"He's going to be fine," head coach Jim Zorn said. "Our problem is that he'll miss the Dallas game."
Taylor recorded one tackle in the Cardinals game, but added one quarterback pressure and three passes defended. He tipped a short pass to wide receiver Steve Breaston in the third quarter.
Demetric Evans is listed as the backup to Taylor on the depth chart. Chris Wilson, Erasmus James and Rob Jackson could also see action in place of Taylor.
"[Taylor's injury] hurts us," Zorn said. "But it's an opportunity for the next guy. They're all getting snaps in games and in practice, so now they get a chance to show more."
The Redskins acquired Taylor in a trade with the Miami Dolphins on July 20 after Phillip Daniels suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Taylor suffered a sprained right knee in the Redskins’ fourth preseason game, but he was able to start all three of the team’s games.
Taylor is one of the NFL’s elite pass rushers. He has 117 career sacks.
Taylor’s consecutive games streak, which is at 133, comes to an end this Sunday when the Redskins play Dallas at Texas Stadium.

It's good they are resting JT now, hopefully we'll have him back healthy for the rest of the games. I hate that he's not in the lineup, but really, his health at 100% is key right now. I believe we have enough guys to cover for him a game or two.

I agree that pressure on Romo is going to be a major key to this game. If we give Romo too much time, TO will absolutely get open for huge gains. This is a major blow, but we do have decent reserves at this position.
The one thing I cannot get past is that JT's injury history has been very good, I don't understand why now he is getting into trouble.

I can be pessimistic and quick to jump the gun on "the sky is falling" type of arguments. However, I just don't see this mattering very much. As I watched all the games yesterday I thought the Skins could easily be 10-6 and miss the playoffs and finish 4th in the division. The Pukes, Gnats and Iggles look darn good.
So whether JT plays or not is not all that important IMO. What I will be looking for is the continued imporvement/maturity/leadership of our QB.

I read somewhere that James is not the guy. Put in Wilson for some MAD pass rush.

Well he is 34 years old. All players start to break down at some point.

I love JT's intelligence, but he's not getting a lot of pressure like we need. As I've said before, I'm not a big fan of two light ends on the D-Line. If we had ONLY JT or ONLY AC, I'd be a lot happier. Granted, we stopped the Saints ground game, but we didn't do that well in our other games. I hope we get a little bit mroe of an anchor on JT's side to help stuff the run game. Dallas has a great O-line and we need big bodies to get in those lanes...

The Saints and the Cards have high powered offenses, but primarily from the passing game. These two teams haven't been running on anyone. Even though Taylor didn't get a dozen sacks in each game, he disrupted the passing game and swatted numerous balls. Blache obviously game planned and schemed to stop the passing attack of both teams.
James had some nice running lanes no doubt, but they lost the game because for the most part, Blache's defense shut down the passing attack. If we play a team with a solid running game, I'm quite certain the defensive game plan would be geared for that. Of course Dallas has both a solid passing and running attack, so Blache's scheme this week will have to be tailored for both.

I don't want to sound negative on JT, it just worries me about this week if he was in. Barber had 142 yds last week alone. I have noticed JT's benefit in the passing game and I'm a large supporter of him in that respect. I just feel like we're selling ourselves short with two starting DEs that are as light as they are. They are talented, don't get me wrong, but if it comes down to smashmouth football, I worry that they just don't have the anchor to hold their positions.
