An Orioles-inspired thing, during "oh say does that star spangled ..." O's fans lamely stress the O ... really dumb, can occasionally be heard at Redskins games. I dislike the "na na na na, hey, you suck" chant ... it's insipid and uninspired. It just makes us the kind of fan base people hate.
Aw, heck... it was their city that was being shelled by the Brits when the darn thing was written... they can stress anything they want!
I've even done it at Fenway a time or two... gets me a little more elbow room, along with the baffled expressions from the folks in the next seats...

I'm sorry for getting completely off point, and starting the whole thing, but...
You're right. In Baltimore they can say that lame "O" and in Atlanta they can say "Braves", but in DC (and points surrounding it) there should be no mention of it. There is an eternal battle between DC and Baltimore...like good vs. evil.
You're better than that, Redskins fans. Say "No" to the "O".
At Wizards games, they've all but stopped it from the National Anthem....but then again there's so few people at the games at the opening tip you'd never notice regardless.

There are 10 other people on the defense, why single the STRONG SAFETY out against one of the league's best receivers. Give Blache a little more credit to be able to learn from his mistakes.

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

The National Anthem sucks.
What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.
I would rate the pukes and eagles as the best in the NFC East right now with both the giants and the Redskins a little behind - The Redskins are not quite there yet but we did get 3 really good guys in Kelly, Thomas and Davis and we will add some more pieces next draft.
As much as I like optimism, I prefer realism. None of these guys have shown enough to judge them as "really good guys" for the Redskins yet....

I must say that the media will lose it's mind...
How do you rank Dallas #1 when the "worst" team in the division beat them? Do the Redskins get mentioned in the same sentence as the other 3 teams? Do we crack the top 10 in the power rankings?
If we win, it will be a fun week to watch.
In a way I hope that we squeak by Dallas if the win happens. I like that the Skins are flying under the radar.

The offense is going to need to score a lot of points in this game...
Yeah...
T.O. went right by the young Landry on one of those Tds. Anyhow I think Landry should be more prepared and ready. There is no reason why T.O. should ever be single covered in this game. He is a big play threat at all times. I really think Landry will rise to the occasion.
The "We want Dallas" chant should have gone the way of the Do-Do Bird after the 1989 season, IMO.
By any meaningful statistical measure, the Redskins are the fourth best team in the best division in football. Nothing is quite so joyous as stomping on Dallas in Dallas, but this year we had better be careful what we wish for, because we just might get it.
Not only Dallas, but also NY and Philly are scoring 30 points per game. NY and Philly are also allowing fewer points per game than the Redskins. Dallas is allowing 21 points per game, but they are scoring 32 points per game. We are scoring 20 points per game and allowing 19 points per game. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that we have an
uphill battle.
Now that we've covered all of the meaningless stats, it's time to go kick some Dall-Ass in Dallas. Stats are for baseball. When none of the experts give us a chance, we win the game. So, let's hope all of the former pukefaces pick their old team.

I couldn't care less, I don't believe in any of that hoopla anymore. All I believe in is execution.
Yep.
I think Zorn will surprise Dallas. He must control the game. Right now we just don't have the firepower to get in a shootout. We tried that last year and lost.
Having said that, I really like our chances in this one. No one of the so called "experts" will choose the Skins, so that's a good start.
We need all the spirits of the 2005 miracle combined with the 1995 Norv-led team (when we beat them twice even though Dallas won the SB that year).

btw Did anybody watch the Eagles yesterday beat the snot out of Pittsburgh? The NFC East is definitely beast again.
I saw the last couple of minutes, but I didn't see any snot being lost, and 15-6 doesn't seem like a whuppin'.
It wasn't that kind of whuppin'. The Eagles D was just physically brutal. They had nine sacks, forced a safety and came up with three turnovers. The Steelers couldn't do anything against them.
Honestly, watching that game I think I'd rather play the Cowboys right now than the Eagles.

Watch the entire game, the score has nothing to do with the beating Big Ben took.
I've seen enough highlights now to see it was a very physical game. Imagine that, a smash-mouth NFC East team. I also know that a nine point deficit can not be indicative of one team's dominance over another (see our season opener for just such an example). I had only caught the last few minutes after they switched from the game shown locally, and found out that both McNugget and Westbrook had left the game with injuries of their own. From what I could see at the time, the Steelers gave as good as they got. But now that I've seen more, I can see what he was talking about.

I know Dallas is loaded but they have been virtually the same team for the past three years and we managed to go just about 50/50.
I respect the Eagles and Giants more than I do the Cowboys. The Eagles are fielding players who have been to numerous NFC championships and a SuperBowl. The Giants are fresh of a SuperBowl run. Dont get me wrong Toni Romo is a very good Qb. There defense is stout in the front seven. I dont doubt there talent one bit just I think we can win this game.
The Cowboys are yet to win a stinking playoff game. Only thing I don't like about our chances is it is an away game.
Honestly I go in to every game thinking the Skins can win. Last year when we went against the Pats I thought we would win. I think if this same Jason Campbell was there last year we would have won. Bring on Dallas. All I ask from the team is to play there guts out. I will always be happy with that.
