So what's the deal with Chris Samuels?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Sorry, but your tea leaves are failing you. Getting a left-handed QB has nothing to do with it. There is no gaurantee that Brunell will start or last out the season. Partick Ramsey is still the future QB and we will need Chris Samuels. Brunell won't be here any longer than three years, but Samuels and Ramsey will. Drafting two late round tackles that no one has heard of bodes nothing for Chris Samuels future. The fact is we need depth along the O-line. We have very talented Starters and some capable back ups, but we still don't have ideal depth. Both of these pick ups could play interior line, where we do need to develop some talent.

Chris is smart not to renegotiate after a poor year. Chris has renegotiated several times in the past. He is willing to do what is necessary for the team, but right nw he is doing the smart thing for his career. Once he returns to his former dominant self he will be happy to renegotiate.

With Gibbs and Bugel's emphasis on the O-line I can't see them getting rid of a cornerstone player like Samuels.
talented LT's don't come around that often. He is not an easily replaced player, nevermind the cap ramifications.

My tea leaves say the Chris will be fine. Coach Bugel will (and maybe already has) told him to stop dropping his outside foot back opening up the outside edge for any DE worth a lick. We will see the Samuels we saw two years ago before his ankle injury that is probably responsible for his technical flaw in the first place.

yep - that was always the knock on him coming out of college... his footwork was fast but inconsistent and sometimes he got turned to quickly - of course this was the kid who almost never gave up a sack in college either

All I know is that Buges likes this guy called Chris Samuels. He's said it quite a few times. And Chris Samuels even said he wanted to be a core player. Unless Samuels was lying I don't see why he won't be with the team for a long time. He's a much better tackle then what he showed last year. He knows it and so does Buges.

Also those two guys they drafted who can play his position. They are going to need alot of coaching before they get thrown into it.

Don't you remember Dockery last year?

yeah - he got turned inside out for several games, but the upside potential that was written about him, and his power, speed (for his size) and ability also seemed to be correct - not bad for a third rounder...

Trade Chris x2, This is very possible

Post by convince »

My belief is that the act that kellen winslow is doing is just that an act, him and coach gibbs have plan, bear, let's say that kw2 makes extremely hard for the browns to sign him, because his dream was to play for the redskins, the browns are stuck between a rock and a hard place, it looks like they are going to lose their number one pick. During the the draft they was extremely excited about the possibly of drafting a left tackle robert gallery until oakland took him. The truth is this, the browns know and even those who hate kw2 know, if he was to sit out this year, like our beloved eli was planning to do, Kellen will still be a top ten pick next year. So with this knowledge the browns would like to get rid of him and get some value, I say we, the redskins should do this, trade chris samuels, which the browns will jump on and Chris Cooley, very nice guy, for the rights of Kellen winslow 2 and the browns 2005 second round pick. I know we will will carry a great deal of the chris contract on the this year. But with the addition of kw2 on offense and taylor on defense, and our 1st rounder next year for a defense end, our future look extremely bright. So what do you think, this not a far reach, this is very possible. I hope you are rteading this Dan and sonny this can work.
