Jason Taylor Sucks?

Post by Gibbs4Life »

Yeah he sniffed out one or two slow developing screens but for most of the game he was a non-factor rushing the passer and a liability against the run. The post has quoted him this week saying he is nowhere near 100percent that to me reeks of excuse. If you can't perform then get off the field, don't just go out there because you feel guilty for the extreme overcompensation you recieve. I told a friend of mine that Jason Taylor was making 7 or 8 mil this and next season and he flipped out, on thursday night I was the one flipping out. I'm starting to believe we would have been better with demetric and chris wilson and rob jackson AND our second round pick next year.

I dont think it's time to panic yet.. he has played one game for us and he was hurt.. granted he is not going to be great against the run but we knew that already.. I'm not ready to dismiss him after one game

did you see the whole team that night? we might as well throw the whole team away then

I will have to agree with you on Jason using that as an excuse, but it has only been one game, sometimes Redskins we sometimes overreact

We gave up so much for Jason that we need him to be a force, and I don't see it. If I am New Orleans I am heading right where NY went and that's right at Jason Taylor, I can see why Parcells didn't want this guy it's because he's soft.

If the team wants him to be a force then they need to start using him properly. You can't simply put a 240 pound player at left defensive end on every play. The Dolphins were creative in the way that they used Taylor. They moved him around, played him as a 3-4 linebacker, etc. Blache has shown zero creativity in the way that he has used Taylor thus far.

That my friend is a thread all itself. You could have stopped right there.
I agree whole heartedly. On youtube if you type redskins talk you can find antwaan randle el interviewing jason campbell and one of the things jason said that stood out to me was that alot of people in life never put their own ego aside, I think a good example of that is the fact that GREGG WILLIAMS should be our head coach right now, he could've been, should've been, he earned that right, and the players wanted him, to all the zornheads hey we could've had zorn too doing exactly what he's doing now working with jason etc. we just would've had a head coach that understood time management, the physicality and mentality it takes to win in the nfl and much more, we would have been a better a football team, but because vinny's ego would not be put aside Gregg was X'd. Jason Taylor is a Vinny Cerrato incarnation so of course it's going to fail

No he doesn't suck, he just doesn't, truth end of story. Bad game, recovering from injury, adjusting to new team mates...all of those things need to be utterly and completely exhausted, and even then he won't suck it will merely be an trading transacation that didn't pan out.

According to Blache JT won't play nearly as many series against NO as he did in the opener. Demetric Evans will get a lot of his reps. I suspect it has a little to do with his knee not healing all that well, perhaps a little swelling after Thursday's game, and a need to stiffen up the D-line against the run.

Still not sure if Deuce is going to play, but the Saints will still try to run it at us no matter what. They've seen the film. They will undoubtedly attack us on the edges a little more, they don't have the personnel to just run between the tackles...but they will still try to run the ball.

I think it takes a couple more weeks before JT syncs w/this new unit, gets his game legs back, and starts having a true former DPOY impact for us. Gotta give him a little time -

Every interview I heard and read, I interpreted NO excuses. Every time he was talking about it, he ended with, "but there's no excuse. I needed to make more plays to help this team win." How EXACTLY is that an excuse? It's pathetic when quotes out of context are used. The WHOLE interview/article needs to be referenced and not one or two lines two reinforce an agenda.

I don't see excuses out of Jason, either. I think it's fairly clear that he's injured, and playing injured. But he's always said that he has to play better...how is that making an excuse?

I think a lot is on Blache and our d-line coach, in that they should have rotated more players in for him. I didn't see Evans out there a whole lot, and I was certain we would.

But no mistake about it; when healthy, he's by far the best pass rusher we've got.

Gibbs4Life wrote:I think a good example of that is the fact that GREGG WILLIAMS should be our head coach right now, he could've been, should've been, he earned that right, and the players wanted him, to all the zornheads hey we could've had zorn too doing exactly what he's doing now working with jason etc. we just would've had a head coach that understood time management, the physicality and mentality it takes to win in the nfl and much more, we would have been a better a football team, but because vinny's ego would not be put aside Gregg was X'd.

Or maybe Vinny and Dan Snyder looked at Gregg's stellar 17-31 record as a head coach in Buffalo, where the players ran him out?

Just a reminder on how bad a head coach Gregg was.

He inherited an 8-8 team that went 29-19 the 3 previous seasons under Wade Phillips (who was fired for that), and in Williams' first year, led them to a 3-13 season the next year. Went 8-8 the next year, then 6-10. Fired, and the year after, the Bills go 9-7. When you look at the Bills Franchise history, that's the worst 3 year stretch for the franchise since 1985-1987.

Just FYI, Gregg Williams has a lower winning percentage (.354) than Steve Spurrier's (.370).

The thread title doesn't have an iota of truth. What is there to discuss? The ProBowls? The consecutive starts? The 117 sacks? The playing injured? The being asked to play out of his natural position, which he has done without any questions or complaints?

This wins the most idiotic thread of all time award. Even out of position, at half speed, on one good leg, Jason Taylor changes games. Ask any QB in the NFL if Jason Taylor still keeps QB heads on swivels.

Furthermore, one game where Jason Taylor doesn't get any sacks doesn't mean much. Taylor has played 173 career games. He has 117 career sacks. There have obviously been several games where Taylor did not register a sack. There have also been games where he's registered more than one.

Some dumb-ass thread about how Jason Taylor sucks because he didn't register a sack in one game doesn't make it so. It only makes the person who posted it look like an idiot. Jason Taylor will be a 1st ballot Hall Of Famer. That alone should have been the first clue that this thread has no merit.

Greg Williams didn't earn anything. He sucks as a head coach and there is a reason that he didn't get hired as a head coach. If he was considered as such a great head coach then why is nobody even talking to him about being a head coach. Look at his record with the Bills, and then look at the Bills records before he got there and after he left.

Belicheat didn't have such a great resume after his first stint as HC, either. A case could be made that, if Bledsoe had never gone down, his resume would still look that way.

Yeah, I can't wait to see how "Super Genius" does this year without Brady.

They still have the easiest schedule, but after seeing the Bills and Jets last week, I'd say they got some stiff competition coming from within their own division.

There's a big difference between 36-44 (Belichick in Cleveland, and won a playoff game) and 17-31 (8-8 was high tide there). Though the first isn't great, it's nearly a .500 winning percentage.

Again, 17-31 is a worse winning percentage than Steve Spurrier's.

Vanilla Defense, as always. Did you here Blache snap back at Charles Mann on Comcast when asked why the defense was so basic? He said something like "what do you want us to be, fancy"....something like that.

That's a poor attititude from our coach. Mann is one of the best ever to play for the Skins D. Hey Greg, how about some stunts, some trickery, some hidden underlying pass rush, stunt, blitz package from our safeties or DB's. How about being like the other fierce Defense that BRING THE HOUSE, the Kitchen, the Toilet......... and SMACK THE QB.

HOW ABOUT IT..........GRED???? but what do I know, I'm just a goober, sitting at a desk, typing my 2 cents worth.... My 2 cents

he doesn't suck, he was also hurt. Remember Andre Carter started off slow when he was here and than finished strong at the end of his first season. I would give Taylor more than one game to come to a conclusion. There is only one Jason I am pissed at, and its not the DE.

Although the JT Jason did play worse than JC!

He was enbarrasingly bad! He was getting his butt kicked by a TE. The Giants stopped wasting a OL on him and just blocked him with a TE.

I know he is hurt, he shouldn't have played. If it was just to keep his streak alive, start the game, let Evens play most downs and only come in on passing downs. He was a complete non-factor in the run game, much like Carter most of last year.

Billy B was actually 30 and 34 with Cleveland and I was at the one playoff game they won under Belicheat.

He was fired in Cleveland because he had no personality and he got rid of a broke down Bernie Kosar, and the Browns fans never forgave him for that. By the way that was the last time the Brown made the Playoffs!

I didn't want GW as a head Coach because he sucked in Buffalo and the team got worse under him. Even the Skins showed some improvement under Norv and look how good a Head coach he is (sarcasm alert).
