June 1st Cuts

Post by fleetus »

Anyone know who the June 1st cuts are expected to be? Any websites out there that may be predicting some names? (We know Trotter will be gone but am curious what DL's will be available, possibly)

I'm hoping John Abraham gets released, it's just a rumor I heard (a while back) but he may be a cap-casuality

I think we should get Kerry Collins!

sike!

For real, we will be better off to save this topic until the last week of May (after mini-camps) or even June 2nd.

1 month of speculating could easily drive many of us crazy. Remember all those threads in February about the Ramsey/Brunell/Bailey stuff...man, that was tough, I don't want to see us get stressed out again.

But one thing you need to consider is todays article by the Washington Times about our cap space. We are MAXED out. So we really are not in the luxury of OTHER teams making cuts...more importantly WE NEED to make cuts, and then get waivers on the CHEAP come June, July.

I think June 1st is the main reason we haven't drafted or signed any high quality rookie d-linemen. I am hoping we find a great deal and fill our final need.

ATTENTION NY Jets, if you don't mind we need 1 more guy from you, we will send Mr.Abraham's ticket (to Giant Stadium) in time for the June 1st cuts, if you will be kind enough to release him. I assure you that he will be AS happy as his 4 friends that he will be re-united with. We know his price tag is a little steep for you guy's, so we'll be glad to take it off your hands.

Joe Johnson is going to get cut by the Packers. He was a very good player for the Saints... can he be again? I think teams will line up to see what he can do. If he's healthy - I think we should grab him.

I'd rather have Ellis, but Abraham would do.

I obviously disagree with "oafsup". We should try to find out whom the likely June 1 DL cuts will be from other teams. We are short at DT and DE. We probably need one of each. What's wrong with speculating? Most of the topics on this board are asking about the future. Go for it!!!
