How much is he worth?$

Post by redskincity »

We have one of the best Safties in the league with Sean Taylor on the throne. He can hit, catch and also match up in the slot. Hell, he even block punts.

My question is what is a monster like him worth? Can we afford him? Whats is his motives?

This is what Roy Williams got from the Cowboys two years ago. It will probaly be a little more than this. I think that Roy Williams was also choosen 5th but I might be mistaken

rookies salaries are all pretty much slotted based on draft position...(rookie pool) the number one pick gets the most and it goes down from there... the skins knew how much the #5 pick was going to cost before they made it... if we couldn't have afforded him we would have traded out of the 5 slot...
See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!

Thats not nessarliry true. If that was the case there would never be hold outs. The agent negotiates what he thinks is right for his client

True, but this is Sean Taylor. Not Winslow and the Poston brothers. Taylor and his agent will find a way to get him in camp on time. Whereas Winslow is already talking about holding out.

I agree with that complelty. Joe GIbbs spoke highly of Drew rosenhaus (taylors agent) at the press conference today so hopefully there wont be any problems. Earlier I was just showing what a high first round safety got a few years ago in roy williams.

I have no doubt that Taylor will not be a problem to sign! He seems very eager to come to training camp!

I can't see Sean Taylor being a holdout. A safety is generally not taken this high in the draft. There really isn't much precedent for arguing that the he deserves more than where he falls in the slotting.

A safety drafted 5th and a impact player to boot. I dont see how Taylor wont be signed and be in camp on time. I think all parties would agree that it is important to get the deal done.

Look guys, Sean Taylor is not some altruistic dude who is gonna play for less than he is worth. He will cost at LEAST as much as Williams, probably more. I'd say about 3 million.
