Will Chris Wilson be on the roster ?

Post by por-tiz2skins »

Here me out , the guy did good last year as a pass rushing guy and did real good by having 5 sacks total. How ever he never put up and weight to be a every down DE and we did expected him to be a pass rushing situational guy when Daniels was here but "O" my things have changed. As soon as we got Jason Taylor we expect Wilson to still be a pass rushing guy how ever.

-Eramus James is healthy and back to his weight.....he hasn't been healthy since his rookie year. And when healthy looked real good

- D.Evans is still good as a back up if not still better than Wilson

-Jason Taylor is here

- The rookie Jackson has started two games with alot of times and has shown real good pass rush

-And above all Phillip Daniels is coming back next year.

So question is we'll Wilson or Jackson get released. Jackson is actully looking better than Wilson and has upsides. Wilson might of reached his limit.

Wilson will make the team. Can you imagine Wilson, James, Carter, and Taylor all on the field in a passing situation? Who do you block? I think Wilson is one of those guys that when he is in the game, he makes a considerable difference on defense.

My guess is he will be. I think we will keep 5 DE's & onle 4 DT's this year.

So far I have seen the count of players to be kept, some hopefully kept, as being:

5 DE's
4 RB's
6 WR's
3 QB's
3 TE's
2 FB's
1 Kicker
1 Punter

That equals 25 players for 8 positions, leaving 28 spots for all other positions. Can that be done? Is 28 spots enough? I am assuming that there are 53 final spots on the roster. If I am wrong about the final roster count, please adjust the count accordingly.

A couple of corrections:

Erasmus James isn't quite healthy yet. When he get on teh field and makes some plays in a game, THEN he's healthy.

There's no guarantee Daniel's is coming back this year. He's up in age and he might jusdt retire. Yes, this is complete speculation, but to not even consider him retiring is not looking at the big picture.

I don't think Wilson is THAT much of a difference. If he was, then we wouldn't have gone after Jason Taylor. We would have picked up some quality depth guy and not HoF bound starter. I'm not saying Wilson deserves to flip burgers, but he's not a starter or they would have started him this year when Daniels went down.

I like what Rob Jackson has done this year.

I like Jackson as well. But I didn't hear much from him last week.

He will make it. it would be tough to cut him becuase he has proven he can play and he is a good relief in case james goes down with an injury

James hasn't even taken a snap yet, so let's not worry about replacing him in the roster....

i was just using him as an example becuase hes had injuries in the past. it would be good to have wilson becuase if any of our lineman go down he can step in and do alright
