I am so sick of hearing about Brett Favre that part of me hopes that he breaks a leg and is out for the season. Oh and he goes to New York so media has extra access and angles to cover Favre wiping the sweat off of his butt.
*Notice that I said part of me wishes he breaks a leg. I don't wish harm on anyone, but I do want Favre to fade away.*

Too bad they couldn't trade him to the Japanese Baseball or Russian Superleague hockey. I never used to have this much animosity for Brett Favre. I never used to have any, but I'm about ready for some good old fashioned Dallas Cowpukes crap if it will make all things Favre go away.
I hate Favre, I hate the Packers, I hate any sports network that keeps acting like we care. As of now, I won't care if he dies. That's what the media does for people. Want to be hatted on? Be the only subject on TV for a few days in a row.

I fear that it will now only get worse... NY is the hub of the incredibly egocentric national sports press, so, naturally, Farve is going to become even more of a darling to them.
It's unfortunate. I've always loved Farve. He is a throwback... a player who would probably play whether he was paid or not. Loves the game, loves the competition, and driven to win...
We have been inundated by all things Favre for a month and a half, now... had he gone most anywhere else, it would die down... but, not now, not with him taking on the role of the savior of the only city that counts... at least in the mind of the all important national sports press...

A few weeks in a row is more like it. Now we'll have to deal with all of the coverage of how much Lord Favre will help the Jets, what's it like to move from the smallest market in the league to the largest, and what's it like to be coached by a bunch of guys that are younger than he is.

I have nothing against Favre personally. I never did. The media just likes to beat stories to the point where people hate the story, the people involved, and the media, not that the media needed to add any fuel to their own fire.
Here's where I will suffer more than most of the rest of Redskins nation, Welch excepted. I live in New York.

True, but it only takes a few days to get hatted on. Or a few posts if you're a Sippy Cup. But I digress. It sounds like you're writing the questions for the retards over at ESPN. If you're not, would you please stop giving them ideas? Thanks in advance.

You mean [cynical interpretation of what they would actually mean] "What's it like moving from the least important market in the league to the most important." [/cynical interpretation of what they would actually mean]

The most important football market is the one that makes the most revenue and the most profit. Guess which one that is? Now, guess which one it isn't? Sports media is so incredibly ignorant.

The important point no one is discussing is the impact of the trade itself on the Packers/Packer fans.
If I were a Packer fan, I'd be totally pissed off. How do you trade Favre after the career he;s had there, including just a play or two away from the Super Bowl last season? Especially since they have no "proven" replacement for him. It's not like he lost his starting job to a better player.
It just seems to me that the FO in Green Bay are smoking some wild stuff up there, and they are going to be hated by the fans, and crucified by the media if Rogers doesn't play like.....Brett Favre. It's a no win situation, because Rogers is unproven, yet the Packers are a legit contender.
Say what you will about Favre, but he could have left Green Bay anytime he wanted to over all these years. It just seems like the Franchise played this the wrong way....
I can only imagine what we'd be saying about Snyder if Favre was a Redskin all-time great.

I thought I had heard that the last report was Favre was unhappy with an open competition for the QB starting job.

Man, the NY media will have a field day when Favre starts colliding with team mates when the L´s start building up.
I don´t see this ending well either for Favre or the Jets or GB. This is just embarassing.
Of course the Jets will improve--a little. You have alot of room for improvement when you´re the Jets, so at least they have some hope for the first eight games of the season.
After that I predict the team will implode.

We might see him in preseason since we play the jets after Buffalo.
