Game in 2 days... :) !!!

Post by Cooley47 »

I know It's preseason. I know it doesn't matter. But sweet moses I am excited! Anything to get my mind off the Nationals....

My insight...

Portis - Doesn't play. at all. Campbell - 1-2 posessions. Moss - No play. Jansen/Samuels - Don't play. Fletcher-Smoot-Springs-Landry - No play.

QB - Campbell 1 posession, Collins 2-3, Brennan - The rest, maybe give Devine 2 at the end.

RB - Marcus Mason Marcus Mason Marcus Mason... Rock, NO CP!

WR/TE - With no Devin I would love to see a TON of Malcolm/Fred, then the PS guys. NO Moss.

OT - Heyer the whole game, we need to get that guy some work. NO Jansen. No Samuels...

OG - RINEHART-RINEHART-RINEHART

C - Find a backup Center

DE - Little Bit of Taylor/Carter... Lots of Evans. Wish we had Wilson.

DT - Lots of Golston. Wish we had Anthony. VERY little Cornelius.

ILB - Little Fletcher. I WISH H.B. could get some PT. kills me, I absolutely love that guy.

OLB - Find Backup OLB's and ST guys... Very little Marcus

CB - Justin Tryon plays the whole game at LCB, Lots of Leigh Torrence in coverage.

S - LOTS of Reed Doughty. Decision between Doughty and Schweigert...

ST - Let's see this guy Brooks.

That goes for every game... PLEASE football gods, PLEASE!!!! NO INJURIES!!!
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

I'd like to see Crummey & Clark get some reps at OG. Ditto McMullen, Mix et al at WR. Give Jackson & Huntley time at DE. Play all the young LB's. Give Horton time at S.

I agree with everything you just said... Mix should get alot of time. Would love to see Huntley, Horton and the young LB's

Crummey has to get at least 2 quarters. Like to see him to at RG so Rinehart can stay at LG for the entire game.
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

I'd actually like to see Jansen in the game. He needs to knock some rust off.

I agree that it would be nice to see him knock off the rust, but it's not worth the potentially injury. If you remember the last time the Redskins played in a HOF game (against Denver) Jansen was knocked out for the season... and he is coming off an injury.

He is too injury prone and way to valuable to risk an injury in an exhibition.

This preseason, there will be some good position battles for sure. I'm looking forward to watching two guys in particular...

Marcus Mason: I really like this kid and think he has tons of potential. I know there doesn't appear to be a roster spot for him, accept on the practice squad of course, but if he ever gets a chance... look out. This will be his second preseaon and I'm anxious to see what he does with this opportunity.

Justin Tryon: First, I think he makes the team and will mostly serve as a nickel back. But I have a sneaky suspicion about this kid. I have a gut feeling we will eventually see this kid making big plays for us. I'll be watching.

Jansen hasn't been in a football game since Week 1 of last season. He needs to get back out there and play. He has to get back in his groove and knock off a lot of rust... maybe even scrape off some barnacles. I don't want him sitting on the sideline to "save him for when it counts," then have him get pushed around the first few weeks with Campbell running for his life as a result.

Another thing. Heyer's close. I think Jansen needs to show he can still hold down his spot. If he struggles, I think we may see Heyer sooner than later.

But what do I know? Flame on!

I agree, I think I'm most looking forward to seeing what he can do after a year of training.

I understand Jansen needs to see the field but maybe one-2 posessions... tops. He can't get hurt again. He just can't.

And yea, I am most looking forward to seeing Tryon, I think he is going to be great, he is so so strong in man-man coverage. I want to Mason like everyone else, in the same way I want to see Heyer after a year of training. I want to see Brennan real bad.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Doughty has progressed at all and to see if Schweigert can play in this league. I am dying to see Rinehart and the rookie receivers.

I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!
