To Vote or Not to Vote and for Whom?
Here'e the way I'm looking at it. I live in VA. It was not in play in 2000 so voting for Bush or Gore did not matter much and I was able to completely "vote my conscience." VA started to look closer in 2004 but Bush still dominated it and my vote was essentially irrelevant.
It appears VA is now up for grabs. Even IF I don't like Obama or McCain much more than the other and even IF there is a 3rd guy I like more, I think I should choose from the big 2. One of them will win, VA might be in play, and VA could actually be a swing state.
I'm voting for one of these guys.
Some "voters" might like this:

I think Obama did a little partying his first year or two of school and has been an ass kicking straight arrow ever since.

PS - On a semi-related note I wonder what the current world situation would be with regards to terrorism, Iraq, pollution, and the economy if Gore had been elected in 2000.

Even Ron Jeremy would be two steps up from McCain and Obama.
too bad most of the voters can't pull their head out of the 'main stream' who's who with the candidates. the media plays the broken records and they hear what they want to hear, but never actually 'listen' to what each candidate brings to the table.
ron paul has been for the american public and average citizen, and NOT the rest of the planet which, imo, is the way it should be.
too bad these elections(for the last 25 years or so) have become the president of the world race, instead of the president of the united states, again, imo, the way it should be.

I agree. Politics has become a "Who can B.S. the masses into submission?" contest. Who can talk the talk? Who cares if they walk the walk? The problem with Presidents who care more about every country other than this one is that this one is going into the crapper, and has been for the last 25 years or more, as you pointed out.
What we need is a law that says that white collar penises with ears can't be President. That eliminates idiots with law degrees who don't know the law, medical degrees, and B.S. degrees. The President should be a construction worker or a welder or someone who knows the meaning of physical labor and busting one's butt to earn a living. No Ivy League golfing homo should be allowed to run this country. Nor should anyone who's military service records, a.k.a. DD214 mysteriously disappear from the public record. I could keep going but I think my point is clear.
What we need is a 35 year old president. I'd say even younger but there's a stupid law about age limits. We need a President who speaks for your generation because the ones who speak for my generation have ruined this country.

wow. um, yea, i'm in total agreement. the presidential race is nothing more than our own beloved probowl. it's a big popularity contest. nothing more. sure we can cast our votes at the polls, but none of them make any more difference than casting a probowl vote at nfl.com. the 'powers that be' ultimatley decide.GSPODS wrote:hailskins666 wrote:GSPODS wrote:hailskins666 wrote:ron paul

anyone who thinks obama is a fit candidate to run the country after an EXTREMEMLY short career in political office needs thier fargin head examined. and mccain is just as bad. while he has been in the political game longer, his whole appeal is the POW thing. it boils down to pro iraq war vs. anti iraq war. niether of which make the least bit of difference if someone would actually take the pro america/anti rest of the world approach, imo.

If he won and was sworn in, I think his hand would burn off from putting his hand on the Bible.
I don't think he's use a bible.
More likely a copy of the 1982 Washington Redskins Playbook.

Hell, Yes. Of course, HailSkins666 would also outlaw the Dallas Cowboys, and anything to do with them. (A possible exception of the cheerleaders is noted)
The oath would also be changed. It would go something like:
"Do you solemnly swear to uphold the laws of the United States Of America, to preserve protect and defend the Constitution, and to damn to hell for all eternity anyone associated with the Dallas Cowboys?"
