Jason Taylor's work ethic
it has been questioned by phin phans.
earlier on nfl network, he was asked how his individual effort could help this team, he responded with "i'm worried about team effort, not really with my individual stats. there are 52 guys going to be on this roster, i want to help them. the individual stats will take care of themself if i do my job. "
he said the right things, but judge for yourself.

Mostly because he chose DWS over OTAs

Back in 2003 he was asked: How did you go from a little-known player out of Akron to the 2002 NFL sacks leader?
Jason Taylor wrote:I'd like to say it is a combination of my work ethic and desire. A lot of people might point to my speed, but at the end of the day, if you don't work hard enough or don't want it bad enough, then all you are is fast. Carl Lewis was fast, but I don't think he ever hit a quarterback.
He hasn't seemed to slack off in the last four years but like you say we shall see.

I saw that as well. Aside from being a great football player, Jason Taylor has high character as well. He always says the right things and backs that up with his actions on and off the field.
Listen, I live in South Florida amongst the Phins faithful. Dolphin fans have been disgruntled for several years now, and especially after Nick Saban quite when he emphatically said he wouldn't. And with regard to the disgruntled fans down here, you can even go back to the days of Dave Wannstedt and Ricky Williams. This will be their 3rd rebuilding phase in 4 years. Their owner, Wayne Huizenga, is pretty lousy and is all about making money, with little regard for his team.
Now, you could say the hiring of Parcells is a step in the right direction, but fans here won't be happy until they have something to brag about, that's how they are. And at this point in time, they have nothing to get excited or brag about. No QB, no running back, thin at receiver, and Parcells just got rid of the two most popular players, on the whole team, in Taylor and Zack Thomas.
I think some Dol-fans might say "Taylor has a questionable work ethic" just as a defense for now having lost, by far, their best defensive player over the past decade. Taylor's work ethic has never been in question before. He's been loyal to that team, has worked his butt off and produced incredible numbers.
So after a decade, he takes one offseason and does the Dancing with the Stars bit, and all of a sudden, now has questionable work ethic. Whatever. I have several friends who are Dolphin fans here and they said today they still love the guy. So I think it's a limited few who are sore and have no other answer for what happened with Taylor. They should thank their egotistical GM.

I think it has been questioned by Phins fans because he was dancing instead of working out with the team. Granted we would all be pissed off too but I remember hearing on ESPN (so it must be true) that his workout regime and effort is second to none. He plays with a high motor and does not take plays off. Like you said I will judge for myself but I am thinking that his work ethic is fine, they were just pissed about his dancing instead of being with the team. I did like though when he said the only times he would be dancing is in the endzone because "its football season now"
In the PC, he was talking about how in the month between the last mini camps and training camp, there are two kinds of players. Players who think that month is supposed to be for partying before the season begins and the others are those who want to work on their bodies and stay in shape until the season begins.
He said he was the latter and wasn't a partyer. Good to hear, IMO.

There really is no question here. Jason Talyor's work ethic?
Just look at his career stats.
Pro bowls
Sacks
Defensive player of the year. - When have the Skins ever had that?
One does not reach these milestones in the NFL with out the greatest level of work ethic, commitment and talent.
We are a lucky bunch to have gotten a potential HOF player at a time in his career when he has something to prove and a chance to get to the superbowl.

Good point, Jake. And he's right, that's why he's in such incredible shape and has played in like 130+ consecutive games without getting injured. As I said previously, Taylor is of high character and has always put football first over things like partying on South Beach.

you could tell from the interview alone, he was NOT trying to blow smoke. he was sincere, and for real. i just wish we played the dolphins this year. he might have broken the single game sack record if so.......

I have a phin phan phriend who's really into the phins. He e-mailed me on this as I was reading the Post online this morning learning about the trade. He says we "stole" Taylor. I'm going by that.

None of which was "homegrown" by the Skins... all came to us from somewhere else.
It shoulda, coulda, woulda been....SEAN TAYLOR... defensive player of the year.

I'm wishing this for the other Taylor...
seriously though, I'm glad we got help for Carter. This is going to be a good season.
