Which three starters are getting cut to sign Favre, because Danny can't backload his contract.

Wow. Brett Farve might actually hit the market? I think you have to look at him right? Last year was pretty decent so its not like he's Boonell. Still that would be so tough for Jason Campbell. Farve does know Zorn's or should I say Holmgren's or should I say Walsh's offense though. I don't know about this one, even if we sign him its only for 1 year because he's gonna quit then unquit, then quit, then unquit, then quit, then unquit, then...

I don't want to stunt Jason's growth or anything and I am not claiming to be thinking long term.... This thread is for all you football geeks like me who just WANT it. It might not be pretty but it would sure be fun. The whole Joe Montana goes to KC scenerio.....

I'm a Skins fan through and through but love Brett Favre. My mom wears his jersey and calls him Brett Far.... because that's how he throws the ball: Far!

He could toss Santana over his shoulder and carry him around FedEx! It is from the part of me who wants a Clinton Portis Fathead with him on his head in the endzone.....

Still that would be so tough for Jason Campbell.

We have invested way to much in terms of draft picks, money as well as the most recent coaching search in Jason Campbell to toss that away for one year of Brett Favre. If we did something like that, it would cripple Jason Campbell.

Upon further review I say forget Brett Farve. If he came to WAS and won the SB it would be forever recorded the Skins won the SB "because of Brett Farve" there would be no acknowledgement of the tremendous work of Joe Gibbs who has built this team. ey, Landry, Fletcher, Moss, Washington, Randy Freaking Thomas, and now we've got serious recieving threats to complement Santanna and Randle El, Fred Davis, Devin Thomas, and MalcomX. I'm excited about the foundation and the draftees coming together for a run this year. We really did have I think what will turn out to be the best draft of any franchise, we've got a punter who in a college game booted a 76 yarder. We drafted a project QB who threw for a gazillion yards. We've got a rookie lineman who can play tackle and guard. A hard nosed DB in tryon and an unknown in Horton. Our draft was siz-olid. We should have won the SB last year, I think with ST we would have, and it would've been the culmination of all Joe Gibbs' work. Only way I'll take Favre is if he brings Joe Gibbs back with him.

1) Brett Farve will NOT be a Redskin next year. Frankly I don't see how the Packers can release him, if anything happens, it will be via a trade.

So if I have this straight. A guy who's 38 and played great LAST SEASON taking his team to the NFC Championship game and missed only the spring practice is equivalent to guys in their 40s who've been out of the NFL for several years. Got it, thanks. :roll:

I'd love to have Favre, but not for what we'd have to pay him unless we were a Super Bowl contender this year and we're not. The Packers are either morons though or they think the rest of us are. Can anyone explain these statements together?

Does the second statement sound like "moving on?" They are going to pay him $13 million to sit on the bench because they won't let him leave, but they've "moved on?" This is like the classless way my former team the Lions treated Barry Sanders. Thanks for that GREAT career! We'll do NOTHING for you now. Drop dead. At least the Lions wanted him back though. They didn't say "come back and we'll make SURE you rot on OUR bench.

At this point it seems to me that Favre will be either traded or released. They've handed the reins over to Rogers, so if they yank them back and give the team back to Favre, they hang Rogers out to dry, who they believe is their long term future. If Favre is on the Bench, every bad play will have the crowd chanting Favre, putting Rogers in a terrible spot.

As for bringing Favre here, I say do it yesterday. He still has gas in the tank, and I do not buy this nonsense that we are not contenders. Last year we could have easily gone to the SB with Favre, and I would say that we have more weapons this year. This team would have a legit shot at running the table with Favre, provided that Favre played the way he did last year, which was one of his best seasons in an amazing career.

I'd sign him for three years, tell him to take us to the SB, and then decide if he wanted to play the remaining 2 years or serve as Campbell's mentor/backup. And I don't think Campbell would be hurt by having Favre here (confidence wise) since he looks upon Favre as an idol. Sure, he'd rather start, but if you're going to play behind anyone, a player of Favre's stature would make it palatable.

The Giants front seven were beyond fierce. Their offensive line was quiet but quite solid. They had a pretty good RB by committee and a good WR, good TE (and surprising back up when Shockey broke his leg). The Giants didn't have superstars on offense, but they had competently solid offense. If can't see that their D, especially the line, was elite, then I don't know what else to say. Eli didn't do too bad in the home stretch, but I would give the consistancy to their D.
