Wrong, Wright

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Wrong, Wright

Post by GSPODS »

Browns CB Kenny Wright was arrested Thursday on charges of unlawful restraint, evading arrest, fleeing, and marijuana possession.

Quite a day. Police say they found Wright with 1.875 ounces of marijuana on his person after a parking-lot altercation from which he initially fled. Wright, 30, has been a fringe NFL player since 2005 and seems highly unlikely to make the Browns' roster now. His release could be coming in short order.

There's nothing quite like a possession with intent to distribute charge to make your team remember your on the roster. I'm glad the Redskins let a potential problem child go elsewhere.

He's tag a "ex Redskin" even though he is on the Browns roster and played there last year. He played more for Minnesota (3 years), Houston (3 years) and started every game the year he was here in Jacksonville. This "ex Redskin" started one game (due to injury) in the B&G.

Shouldn't he have been called a "ex Texan" or "ex Vike" or even something like "backup BROWNS CB" ?

He's soon to be called an ex-convict. Is that good enough for you?

He'll have to be convicted, sentenced, serve his time and be released before he can be called that. That will probably take more time then the time he was a Redskin, so ask me when they start refering to him as one and I'll let you know.

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns cut backup defensive back Kenny Wright, who was arrested last month on marijuana possession charges after trying to outrun police in Texas.

Kenny Wright, DB

Career stats:
Games: 133
INT: 7
Sacks: 3
Wright faces misdemeanor charges of unlawful restraint, evading arrest and possession of marijuana. Police in Pearland, Texas, said officers were investigating a disturbance in the police station parking lot around 11:30 a.m. on April 3. When officers approached Wright, he took off running and was eventually caught in a nearby subdivision.

Police said they found 1.875 ounces of marijuana in Wright's vehicle.

Wright played in seven games last season, getting three tackles and one quarterback pressure. He is a nine-year NFL veteran and has appeared in 133 career games, including 57 starts, with Minnesota, Houston, Jacksonville, Washington and Cleveland.

I hear the Bengals are interested. Should he be suspended, the Cowboys would then be interested, as well.
