Draft Pick Press Conference - 4/28/2008

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Draft Pick Press Conference - 4/28/2008

Post by spudstr04 »

DEVIN THOMAS is wearing #85! (The end of the Brandon Lloyd era is complete!)

He is saying all the right things at the press conference.

I like him already!

He says he's a little bit like Anquan Boldin, Hines Ward, & Santana Moss.

This may be a dumb question, but is Colt there? If so, what number is he wearing?

Fred Davis is up now. He's number 86. He said that he played on a recreational team named the redskins when he was little. He said the he hopes to carry on the tradition of burgundy and gold from USC to the Redskins' burgundy and gold.

Malcolm Kelly is on the podium next.

He will wear #84 - (GARY CLARK)

He was asked how he felt about playing for the Skins after growing up in Texas.

He said the he grew up a Texas fan and then played for Oklahoma, so he's had experience in the area. Then he was asked if he was a Cowboy fan. Kelly said yes. Then the reporter asked when did that stop, Kelly said about 2 days ago. Really funny kid!

He also said that having 3 receiving draft picks coming in together will help them push each other and help them transition into the NFL type atmosphere.

What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.

He's got a heck of a lot to live up to, then. Kelly seems to have some of the same fire that helped make the original #84 a legend. Perhaps Gary will become somewhat of a mentor to the rookie and help him to focus and harness some of that intensity on the field.
"No one played with more heart."

-Clinton Portis on Sean Taylor

As of 11/27/07, I resolve to never again read any version of the Washington Post.

Haha, I made these guys on Madden on Sunday and those are the exact numbers I gave them. Good guess eh?
