K2
Did anyone hear the comments that K2 made about Joe Gibbs.
I was listening to an interview with Gibbs and they asked him about the comments K2 made when he stated that he is going to make us pay because he was promised if he was still their we would take him. What a pr*ck. Joe said he made no such promise. Just goes to show you that this kid has major character issues and we made a good decision.

lol, you guys are a cut-up
Did you notice Scouts Inc. gave Sean Taylor a C tag too?
Also, I don't doubt for a second that the Redskins led Kellen Winslow on, it took them until the last second to make a choice.
Now, it may have been unintentional, but Kellen has a right to be upset, he wanted to play for the Redskins very badly.

If he wanted to play for the Skins SO badly, wouldnt he show up for the meetings on time?

55, get behind your team.
What you're doing here, it wrong.
The move has been made. You've stated your preferences. Fine. It's done now.
McCants is a Hogs.net poster now.
You need to get right and support Gibbs, brother. There is no debating where your loyalties lie. This "Devil's Advocate" stuff only goes so far, though.
Only time will tell who was wrong and who was right.
Let's move on.

i seem to think that this pick might show that snyder still is calling the shots... food for thought... maybe gibbs really did want k2...
snyder ultimately picks taylor in the end b/c of the agent Potson's... i think there really is bad blood and the poston's being k2's agent played a part in this

See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!

Were you all smiles when we had Heath Shuler? Is it not supporting the team to say he was terrible? No.
I have serious questions about this pick, it doesn't seem to be a very good one.
Taylor is a good pick. Examples of bad picks:
1/ Trading 4 picks to move up a few spots, then drafting JP Losman
2/ Taking Chris Perry ahead of Kevin Jones.

The Postons are sloppy and tough to deal with. Then KW drops the bomb today that we will pay.... HA HA HA.... shouldnt he be happy his teammate from Miami got picked. This kid has NO class, just like his old man.

You know something ? I think you're right. I was all smiles when we got Shuler. He said all the right things, Norv was beaming, he could throw sixty yards from his knees.
You certainly can question this pick, if you like.
In turn, I can ask you to make this more of an objective observation, because what you're doing comes off as Redskins-bashing. It's not the way you've flavored all of your other posts.
Can't you see any good coming from this young Hurricane ?

The Postons are exactly the reason I didn't want them to pick Winslow. The kid is very good, but I don't think we would've even been able to sign him. If we did, we wouldn't be able to again because he would never renegotiate or do anything for the team. He is all about one thing...himself.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

Hey Taylor has great hands, speed and coverage skills...
His tackling leaves a little to be desired because he'd rather punish the reciever first and tackle him second... but that is something that may be worked on...
Still, he isn't nearly as good as Kellen Winslow.
And please everyone, drop this ridiculous character argument, Scouts Inc. gave Sean Taylor the SAME C red flag for Character problems that they gave to K2.
Getting Taylor instead of Winslow would be easier to deal with if we had more picks, but we don't... we couldn't afford to take a role player like Sean Taylor, and we needed a REAL impact player like Kellen Winslow with that pick. I think we blew our chances at being a real contender next season unless we do a lot more work.
I am hoping we can trad up and get
ey and/or Hilton so the draft is not lost...

SF55 - How can you say that Sean Taylor isnt nearly as good as K2? Dude...people had Sean Taylor as the best player in this draft. No not defensive player...best player overall.
I know that everyone here loves the Skins but you really need a reality check. You are a kid...and JG needs to get the benefit of the doubt from you that he may know a little bit more than you when it comes to what this team needs. Sean Taylor was the right choice. Deal with it.

Rich - From your posts it is obvious that you know your football. I have to ask why you would say that our line sucks? I understand that we did an awful job last year but we upgraded dramatically. Griffin and Daniels are nice run stuffers. We will get pressure on the QB with our LB corp. You youself talked about the awful Cover 2 scheme that Edwards was fond of. Williams will find ways to get to the QB with what we have. Mark my words...we will be a top 10 defense next year.

I have been following this thread (and a hundred just like it). If I had my way, I would have traded down and gotten a couple of blue collar guys with two picks later in the first round. This would have solved more than one hole. Having said that, I will say that this is a good pick for the following reasons: 1)Defense wins championships and 2)our offense will be ok with St. Joe at the helm and Buges in the trenches.
Also, when will everyone learn?: You don't win with a couple of self promoting superstars (actually you don't win with non-self promoting superstars either). This is particularly true in the modern era where too much money can be devoted to the superstars and not enough to bench players. When a starter gets hurt, the drop off to the second string is dramatic. I will use New England as an example of this. I will also use our own Redskins as an example--With four trips to the Super Bowl during the glory years, only one player, just one, has made the HOF.

I am in a state of ecstasy! Never mind that nonsense about euphoria and so on. It is sheer, unadulterated, uncompromising ecstasy!
