that statistic could not matter less...

The draw of Kellen Winslow is that he would make everyone around him better, not that he would be amazingly productive

Can I quote you as saying, "touchdowns don't matter"?

Touchdowns matter, but you can quote what I actually said, it doesn't matter WHO scores touchdowns.

We had a MUCH bigger need on defense.
Simple as that.

we had a need at defensive line, not safety and we had a much bigger need at TE than DE

This pick continues to mystify me

If you listened to what Gibbs and Williams had to say about the pick, you might understand it a little more. Its on the official site if you missed it.

I was out at FedEx -- too nice a day, so I sat outside on the club level at the 50.

When Taylor got picked, it was a very happy place. High fives for everybody.

A little sensitive, aren't we? I'm just saying that it's not like Sean Taylor isn't a playmaker either.

Look, I understand the positives that Kellen Winslow would have brought here. There is no doubt in my mind he would have been a great player for us. You've just got to look for the positives in Sean Taylor. Positive thinking man.

By the way, big win for the Red Sox today, I know you can't be too depressed...

That Bosox win did take the sting away a little bit, but still...

Gibbs was just interviewed by Ed Werder and Werder relayed that Kellen Winslow said that he was angry that the Redskins didn't select him, that he felt he was promised he would be taken and that when he plays the Redskins next season it will be payback time...

I doubt Sean Taylor felt that strongly about playing for us... but what's done is done...

I just don't see Sean Taylor being as good as Roy Williams or even that much better than Ohalete...

Sean Taylor: 10 int's, 3 td's...no, he's not a playmaker

5 were against Louisiana Tech, Rutgers, BC, WVu and East Carolina.

Can you name any of those QBs? Wanna know why you can't do that without going to ESPN to do it? Cause they weren't that good.

5 Ints is still good, but really - do you think he is gonna do that in the NFL? Please, don't get me wrong - I hope he proves me way wrong. Really I do.

I just don't see him being able to do the same things he did against the 5 weak opponents... not even including Syracuse who was rather pathetic this year... I was really surprised he didn't have 3 against Tech with the problems we were having there this year...

what are you saying? those int's aren't valid? sean taylor doesn't make the schedule's but it's obvious that he comes to play no matter who he's playing. all i was trying to say that he was play maker, i NEVER said that he was going to have the exact same numbers his 1st year with the skin's. but ANYONE playing division I football with 10 picks and 3td's play on defense is a PLAYMAKER in my book.

Kellen Winslow is an idiot. Just think about this for a second. First off, he shows up late for a meeting with what could be his new coach. Second, he asked the Redskins to rate the agents and the Redskins do it. They tell him the Poston Brothers suck. They are hard to deal with and they are causing us alot of problems right now with LaVar Arrington. (I don't have inside information, but I'm sure something along those lines were said). So he picks the Poston Brothers.

Not only does he make a bad first impression, but he picks agents that screwed LaVar out of 6.5 million and didn't tell LaVar that he was signing the rights to his number away.

That defines the word "IDIOT" to me. And now he is wondering why the Redskins didn't pick him? Well he's an idiot. Its clear the Redskins didn't want an idiot on this team. And if that makes him angry then so be it.

As much as I wanted the Skins to trade down, it's hard not to like the Taylor pick. The word is that the Pats wanted the Skins 5th pick. The Pats say Taylor was the best player in this years draft. The last time I checked the Pats have two SB in the last 3 years.

Rich you left out Taylor best game vs. FL. St. the one thing I look for in college players is how do the play in big games and how do they play when their teams behind. Taylor was very good in both cases. I can live with the pick.
