Offers on the table for Caldwell and Fabini & Hackett In

Post by spudstr04 »

The Redskins have offers on the table for free agent WR Reche Caldwell and OL Jason Fabini.

Caldwell would be viewed as a deep reserve if he re-signed with Washington. The 'Skins are probably only offering him a deal for the minimum.

i really hope they don't think hackett solves the WR problem. He will barely even be on the field before he is injured. I'm really getting tired of people mentioning mix as a legit receiver when he has shown less than nothing on the field in the NFL or in college that would suggest he is capable of being a productive WR. The FO does not seem to piece together the connection between an above average passing game and success as a team, which is a connection that should be becoming more impossible to ignore every year. They still better draft a WR in the first two rounds, preferably the first. Hopefully hackett is just a plan until the WR they draft is ready to play.

Remeber "5 ina row or we don't go?" The Redskins thought they were in great shape for the next year, Super Bowl bound and all that....and what happened?

I agreed, I dont think either Mix or Hackett are the answer. But I do think Hackett helps because of his experience. We do draft a WR even if we sign Hackett.

I talk about Mix b/c he looked good in what little chance he got (pre-season last year) and he's a producer on ST. He's got a 3yr contract, so SOMEONE liked him. Why not give him a shot? It'll be close to impossible to perform worse than Lloyd did, and look how much time he spent here.....

The way I see it, it can't be worse than the WR production we got at the beginning of last season.

After receiving an offer from the Redskins, free agent D.J. Hackett has decided to explore other options.

He was in Tampa Bay on Thursday and will fly to Carolina for a Friday visit, assuming the Bucs can't keep him in town. The Redskins remain on the prowl for a big receiver, a necessity in their new West Coast offense.

It has been a while since a free agent came to washington and left without signing.

We will see if he comes crawling back...probably not unless the money is there

I think we should find a way to get Boldin from Arizona. If we could get him for our second and maybe Betts I would be fine with that. First round receivers are never a sure thing.

No thanks. Thats way too much. Our backup RB and a 2nd rounder? I could see Betts and a 4th & 6th but the quality is still really good at the 2nd.

Are you kidding???

Anquan Boldin for Betts and a second rounder????? Who is having trouble spelling "no brainer"??? Boldin is a know quantity, and is superior to any of the "potential" in this draft.

He also hasn't played a full season in a while. He was hurt a lot last year. He has only played a full season in two of his five years in the NFL. He will be 28 this November. I'm not saying that wouldn't love him, but it must be at the right price.

Normally I HATE trading picks for players, but I would trade Betts and a second rounder for Boldin without hesitation. Boldin is exactly the type of receiver that we need on this team.

While it's true that he only played 12 games last yr, he caught 71 passes for 9 TD's in those 12 games. Which of our WR's did that in 16 games?

Citing a source, the Washington Post reports free agent OL Jason Fabini will re-sign with the Redskins.

Fabini wound up drawing only light interest elsewhere. It's a little surprising that the Dolphins and old pal Bill Parcells didn't go hard after him.

He's a versatile player and I'm sure he came cheap.
