Oh well, Wilford would have been a nice fit in the west coast O at a decent price.
Add James Hardy to that draft list. He's a monster who needs a little polish, but could be another Plax.

Why load up on mediocre players?????
Here are some potential pro bowl safties. You guys need to stop thinking mediocre and think like a champion.
Dude, I'm all for drafting a stud safety, I was all about that last year with Landry. But not this year. It's all about prioritizing. We have other more pressing needs like DE, WR, DT and OG. They're simply looking for some inexpensive depth in case one of our starters goes down. Prioleau and Stoutmire might be gone. That leaves Fox. They're not going into the season with only 3 safeties on the roster. I can't see them using our 1st, 2nd or 3rd on a safety this year, and beyond those rounds, the safety class is extremely weak.
fleetus wrote:Our priorities:
WR - Big frame red zone WR to fit west coast (and catch TD's)
DT - Talented DT to take double-teams away from Grif
CB - depth/future, Smoot/Rogers not ideal #1's, Springs not as Springy anymore
OL depth - age and injuries make serious depth a priority.
DE - Daniels getting old. Need some talented youth to groom.
LB depth - OLB, behind #53 and with #52 rehabbing.
Safety - Depending on Prioleau, may need someone to compete with Doughty
I consider the top two priorities equal. So we need to go with the best talent for the money available via draft, free agency or trade. However, there do seem to be about 5 big WR's available in the first round of the draft.

So maybe he's not right for us, but you gotta think he would look good next to Grif if we could fit him under the cap.

In reading through this thread WR seems to be the most listed priority. I disagree. I do not hitnk Hackett or Bryand are the answer here. I belive we have the guy we need on the roster already.
Anthony Mix a 6'5'' 230lb WR. I say this becasue of the familiarity with #17 at Auburn U. and the fact that the SB champs were not real happy to see him get signed off their practice squad. I like the line up of Moss, Mix, El &ey. If Mix can pick up the offense & make some catches, we can then target a D-lineman to add to our aging group. Not to mention Mix is pretty good on teams as well.
Side note the Iggles signed a situational pass rusher from Oakland by way of D.C. - Chris Clemons

Must be a strong class of safeties ... in your estimation

SkinsFreak wrote:I think it's worth noting that while some of you continue to say Will Demps sucks, he was a Pro Bowl Alternate this year, right behind some guy named Ed Reed.
Many Texans fans do not want to see him go. I think for the right price, he'd be a nice addition to our defense.
Arizona Cardinals free agent wide receiver Bryant Johnson told the Buffalo Bills official web site on Monday that he has scheduled a visit with the Redskins. (Johnson visited with Buffalo on Monday.) However, Redskins team officials have not confirmed a visit with Johnson.
Johnson is a fifth-year player out of Penn State. He grew up in Baltimore. In four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, Johnson has 210 career catches for 2,675 yards and nine touchdowns.
CanesSkins26 wrote:I'm with SkinsFreak on this. There is nothing negative about bringing in a guy like Demps. At worst he adds depth to our secondary. He's started for some good defenses in the past so to think that he isn't good enough to play here is ridiculous. He started all 16 games for a Ravens defense that was ranked sixth in the NFL in 2004.

Skins hardly overpay for people now; when's the last time you saw them throw 20 million guarenteed at a player like what's been thrown around in the past 2 years to guys like Nate Clements and Justin Smith (a bargain at 10 million guarenteed per sack last year!)?
Hint. Never.
The standard 5 year, 25 million, 10 million guarenteed contract that the Skins have been giving out...is an under market contract now.

And I'd be happy to get Will Demps. I watched him in Baltimore; he's a highly underrated player.

Add to this list Mark Brunell and Brandon Lloyd.
In my opinion TOdd Wade shouldnt even get a dollar for how he plays. Randle El in my opinion is a big time under acheiver and yet he is due to earn four million this year. THat is four million too many. He is a one million a year player IMHO.
If we are to spend money on players I expect them to perform. THese wide receivers have performed poorly. Yet we have Moss, Randle EL and Brandon Lloyd who all are among the highest paid on this team.
Bottom line is money could be spent on better players. Try and deny that.
