I was thinking.... The Chargers have to move out of that number one spot and acquire some picks.... other wise they would be hurting their team if they don't and stay and draft Manning....
Basically, what's been said is that the Giants have offered them their number 4th pick overall, there 2nd pick this year... and there second pick next year or Ike Hillard....
this means that they'll have 2 high second round picks....
If they don't take Hillard, they would still be in the market for a WR.... Rod Gardner was Marty's pick....
I believe if this situation were to occur, it would be smart for both of us to make a trade for that 2nd pick and trade Gardner (were we have depth at WR).
The Chargers would gain an experienced WR, probably better than anyone they would get with that 2nd round pick....
And we could possible fill a need area at TE or D-Line...
Some names that would still possibly be around:
Ben Troupe, TE Florida
Ben Watson, TE Georgia
Marcus Tubbs, DT Texas
Randy Starks, DT Maryland
Darnell Dockett, DT Florida State
Donnell Washington, DT Clemson
Sean Jones, S Georgia
Basically, Do you feel losing Gardner would be worth picking up one of these guys? Or Do you think we can get buy with what we have and can't afford to lose Gardner?
Just a thought....

I've been a supporter of trading away Rod for a late first/early 2nd all off season.
We had depth BEFORE we brought in thrash.
Personally, I reckon Tubbs will be available early in the 2nd round, along with at least 2 other good enough D-tackles.
Take Taylor at 5, bring in a DT high 2nd and get a TE/H-Back in the 5th.

The Charger never do the right thing but this would help our cause greatly

Well seeing that they don't have anything at WR they've got to draft one in the first 2 rounds.... otherwise Brees/Rivers/Whoever will have a horrible season......
