What a Defense!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

What a Defense!

Post by Skinsfan55 »

Yes, Sean Taylor would make our defense better (I still want K2) but I am fine with Iffy and Bowen. Still, check out this defense!:

DE- Phillip Daniels
DT- Cornelius Griffin
DT- Brandon Noble
DE- Renaldo Wynn

SLB- Marcus Washington
MLB- Mike Barrow
WLB- LaVar Arrington

CB- Shawn Springs
CB- Fred Smoot

FS- Ifeanyi Ohalete
SS- Matt Bowen

Not bad at all!, I love the secondary and the linebacking corps but I think the line could really be helped with a playmaking DE... We have a lot of guys to occupy blocks, but a quick DE to get inside and break things up would be great. I still think Winslow would offer more on offense than a DE would help on defense, but if it were possible to trade Trotter for one that would be great! Hell, Trotter is 6-1 262, why can't HE play DE? He's not MUCH smaller than who we have!

dude our dline blows, shawn springs is injury prone, and ohalete sucks, sean taylor would be a nice pickup for a D that needs a large injection of talent

woah woah woah.......iffy ahalete sucks. That man came through and made some really good plays. I think under our new coaching staff he will be a stud and I think bowen is solid. I still vote that we go with k2 also and I think thats what they will do.

I think we'll be vastly improved simply by using a defensive scheme more based around the play of the linebackers.
Last years defensive schemes would have worked if our line could exert any pressure at all on either running or passing plays. Thats where we have a limit of talent.
Making more use of linebackers and stronger depth in the secondary and we'll be much better this year than last.

There will be a difference just in having professional coaching. Who knows which of these guys really has it? Gibbs and Williams already have some idea. We will begin to see it...
