Philly fans

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Philly fans

Post by CVGVIKE »

The Vikings have a MNF game at Philly and since the Redskins are a divisional rival with the Eagles I have to ask a question. Will my life be in danger if I go to the game in my Viking gear..lol? I hear that they are almost as bad as Oakland fans. If you guys think that they are this bad then share some of your Philly experiences with us.

They are probably one of the worst groups, collectively. Food for thought...they had a court/jail built inside Veteran's stadium, due to the lawlessness. I personally have never been there, but many of the others have, and I'm sure they'll say the same thing...tread with caution.

My friend's uncle is a Packer fan who lives in Philly. A few years ago he went to an Eagles game wearing his Packer gear. I don't even know if the Eagles were playing the Packers that night. In fact, I think it might have been a pre-season game. Well, anyways, the Eagles won that night and they were still calling him names and throwing drinks at him. If you really want to go, you might want to consider not wearing your favorite Vikings jersey due to it getting food and drink stains on it.
Your life will only be in danger if your Vikings win and you stand up in your seat and start smack talking. Philly has the worst fans.

we're not THAT bad. i mean, sure every team's fan base has a few "bad apples". but honestly, if you don't want to be harrassed i wouldnt wear your colors. things have cleaned up quite a bit since we moved into the new stadium. even the eagles court/jail is gone. looking at the rosters now though, if everybody is healthy, this should be a heckuva game. culpepper/moss vs mcnabb/owens. i can't wait.

I've been to two Eagles-Redskins games at the Vet. The first time, I was flying below the radar. The second time, I was wearing my Riggins jersey.

First Time
I sat in the 700 level at the Vet and openly rooted for the Skins. Fans around me gave me hell...but they pretty much let me be. I saw a few sections over where a Redskins fan wearing a hog mask was getting his A__ kicked pretty bad. Security was called and, of course, they ejected the Redskins fan instead of the guy committing the criminal assault. Welcome to Philly.

Second Time
I barely made it out of the parking lot alive. "ass....ass" is all I heard. Food was thrown at me. A few guys came up to my face and, if I were smaller, they probably would've taken a swing at me. I was with my friend, who was wearing his Eagles jersey, but it was still a horrible experience. Once inside, I felt safer in my section...because the fans, though vocal, were not throwing stuff at me or threatening me. Once back out in the parking lot, however, I truly felt fear for my safety.

You simply cannot wear your colors at an Eagles game. Their fans are the scum of the Earth and they do not recognize your right to root for your favorite (non-Eagle) team. If you want to enjoy your experience at the game more, don't wear your colors.

I went to a Skins/Eagles game in my colors. Will never do it again, I could just not enjoy the game. I was called every name in the book just a horrible day overall. So imagine my anger when I get to my seat at FedEX at the Skins/Eagles games last year only to find a dozen Eagles fans in my row and seats!! It was all I could do to not go off.

Like Joe Gibbs has been saying, we have to turn FedEx field back into a Redskin battle ground were other teams come into a hostile environment. I'm not saying that we should become criminals like Philly fans, I'm just saying we need to make sure that 95% of the people in the crowd should be Redskin fans. We have to make FedEx's field atmosphere the way it was back in the glory days at RFK.
