Yeah, the wheels are definitely falling off of a team that lost by 3 points in the final minute of the second-biggest SB upset ever.
Their defense will probably be worse next year due to age/retirement/free agency losses, but they still have a potent offense, the best QB in the league still in his prime, a relatively-weak division (Seahawks Syndrome), and a solid coaching staff.
After the loss to the Colts in the AFC title game last year, people said the same thing. What did they do then, you ask? They simply reloaded and came back with 18 straight wins before being upset by the Giants.
This team, more than any other in professional sports, reloads instead of rebuilds. As much as I hate to say it, Brady will probably finish his career with 2-3 more championships, and we'll look back at Super Bowl XLII as an aberration from the norm rather than as the beginning of a dynasty's downfall....
