Is anyone else concerned about the statement he made about corners? The one thing that frustrated me about GW's defenses was the inability to pressure the qb without blitzing. I just hope that Blache and the front office make an effort to improve our defensive line this offseason. The Seattle game highlighted our deficiencies in the trenches and that problem needs to be addressed. I don't care how good your corners are, but if you can't pressure the qb those corners are eventually going to get beat. Look around the league, and how many defenses with great corners and bad defensive lines are doing well? On the other hand, the Giants made the Super Bowl with a great defensive line and average linebackers and defensive backs.
perfect example...the broncos on paper, had the best secondary in the nfl, but continued to get beat because of a terrible DL. granted, they couldn't stop the run which caused their DB's to be one on one a lot. but dre bly and even champ got beat a lot this year because teams had so much time to throw the ball...DL is where it starts
Don't get down on the Giants 2ndary. They, by far, are NOT the worst in the league. Aaron Ross is going to be a shutdown corner. They have a pretty good safety in Wilson, too. McQuarters stepped up nicely in the end as well.
As for the coaching situation, I've not been around the league enough (!0 yr hiatus while in the Army) to know the politics behind the coaches being hired. I know that if Danny DOESN'T have a HC already sealed up and just carrying out his wishes, then it's going to be tough to find a HC with all the other pieces in place. Let's just it all works out for the best.
...any given Sunday....
RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!
GSPODS:
The National Anthem sucks.
What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.

I think that what Blache is talking about is that he wants to get pressure from the front 4 and in order to do that he will need CBs to do a better job than we saw here - I totally agree that we need a better defensive line this season but that should be done by adding a better pass rushing DE - I just think Blache feels that his defensive line will work a lot better if he gets better coverage from his secondary - it is all very well for Denver to have great CBs, the rest of that group sucks IMO.
The giants secondary is going to get torched - actually their defense is going to think it is playing a different team because nothing they saw will be the same in this game - sayonara
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
