Really, who cares. The HOF means nothing now, considering the list of "honorees" for 2007...

In: "Michael Irvin". :puke:

Not In: Art Monk. :hmm:

What else do you need?

I don't see any reason that the twit voters will let Monk and Grimm in now. I think Darrell gets in first try though. I feel for Monk because I don't think he's is ever going to get in. Soon the writers will be to young to have even remembered what he meant to the game will only look at stats.

That might not be a bad thing. Art's stats in comparison to his contemporaries were huge... and he still compares favorably in many areas.

Plus, being too young to remember him cannot be any worse than the current crop of "writers", who are simply too stupid to acknowledge him. Better too young than too stupid. Being too young gets better with age. There is no cure for stupid.

I'm with Countertrey on this.

If we get rid of PKing, Dr Z, and the other idiots that don't vote for Art then he will get in. ( I don't buy it for a second that King actually voted for Monk last year!)

What the HoF needs to do is post how each member voted and their email address so they can explain to the fans why they kept a guy out.

Seriously, why are these secret ballots?

Ever since posts started popping up when the finalists were named, I've refrained from entering the discussion in order to curb my rage. To put in Irvin before Monk just made the HOF an utter sham to me. Even Irvin before he was inducted, to his credit, was asked who should be in that isn't, the first name out of his mouth was Art Monk.

I've seen it pored over all kinds of ways, and there's only one analogy that makes sense to me about this. It starts with a question:

Who was the first man to break the 4 minute mile?

Now, you may or may not know that it was Roger Bannister. But if you didn't, you could google it and find out the answer quickly enough (I just remembered learning that in school).

Now, who was the second man to break the 4 minute mile?

......................................................................................................................................................right. Good luck finding that one.

If there was a school for the NFL, and they asked who was the 1st WR to catch 100 passes in a season, you'll get Art Monk. No one will care who was the 2nd to do it 6 years later. Art Monk made history in the league for his position, and just because he was later eclipsed by arguably (check that, probably) the greatest receiver of all time doesn't make him any less worthy.

All that to say, I don't really care if them jackholes vote him in or not, I honestly don't. He, Darrell, and Russ are Hall of Famers in my mind, and that's good enough for me.

But for the purposes of the subject line:

Darrell is in.

Art and Russ ain't.
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

I say Green for sure and Its hard to think that Monk gets screwed again. The only downside to 2 Skins making the Hall is that I see a fifth preseason game if 2 of them are in.

I think Green is definitely in. Sadly, Monk and Grimm probably don't make it do the apparent prejudices the voting panel has towards them.

Kruncher is right. If Monk and Grimm have not gotten in yet, they wont.

I say Monk and Grimm are in. As far as I'm concerned, they were voted in years ago, but the votes haven't been counted right.

It should be time to campaign for Joe Jacoby and Jeff Bostic.

Darrell Green? Of course.
