GIANTS WANT ELI MANNING!!!
I am hearing from very good sources that Eli Manning has told the Chargers he will NOT play for them and has told the GIANTS they are his preferrred team. Furthermore, the Giants and Chargers have been in negotiations over a trade and the decision will be made by Friday night.

I heard kinda the same thing too.... on ESPN Radio this morning... that the Chargers want to move back to 4 and hope either Gallery, Williams, Fitzgerald or Rivers falls to them... and that they've been talking alot with the Giants so they could take Manning.... trade expected to be finalized in the next couple of days.....
Personally, I'd hate to see Eli play in this division.... I think he's going to be as good as his brother.... If not better

How long is Collins gonna be the starter? We shouldn't fear Elisha. Remember how long it took for Peyton's TEAM to get really good? Behind a Manning, the COLTS are just now starting to make noise in the postseason. Eli won't be ready for a few years, enough time for Joe and the SKINS to win at least three titles (wishful thinking). GO SKINS!

I don't know if Eli will be better than Peyton - that's a pretty big act to follow! But I agree that I wouldn't be hyped to see Eli Manning playing for the Giants. He'll be a good QB.

I s Collins'cap number THAT high??? Otherwise, why would they release him?? If they want to hang in the NFC "BEAST" with the rest of us, they clearly have to put in their best weapons, and, Champ Bailey can testify, Collins is one of them.
I guess it DOES help to have a less than average GIANTS team, huh. GO Skins.

Yeah, and I bet the owners are hoping he IS a bust and out of the league soon. Can u imagine if he does end up better than his bro, and some poor fool has to pony up $30+ million to keep him, thereby raising the bar even further for QB salaries?
I hope the Mannings are done producing QBs, they could single handedly put the owners out on the curb. He he.

It was Archie that informed the Chargers that it would be in Eli's best interest not to be drafted by the Chargers the Giants came up because there are only 3 teams talking to SD about the #1 pick ...WASH CLEV and NYG

ESPN just confirmed that Manning Agent told the Chargers that Manning wanted to play for New York and not the Chargers....
DANG! DANG! DANG! DANG! DANG! DANG!
This stinks cause not only if this happens does the Giants get a future good/great QB.... but there also a chance that someone could jump in front of us and take Taylor, because the Chargers would probably trade back again since there eyeing Rivers.....

This is very interesting with Eli! I really think he will be a very successful QB in the pros. I really do not want the Giants to trade up and take them. I heard that the Mannings did not want to leak this story because it might tarnish their good reputation. This situation is similar with Elways dad demanding he be traded except that it was stated that Archie would prefer to play for the Giants. It did not say that he wouldnt play for the Chargers! I just hope the Chargers take Eli!
"SUCK FOR LUCK"
The Plot Thickens
Tom Condon, the agent for Eli Manning, is also the agent for Drew Bees. In addition, Tom Condon and John Mara (EVP of the Giants) were classmates at Boston College. And more importantly, the Chargers heve not had any contract negotiations with Eli. That is very unusual. It would be extremely risky for San Diego to draft Eli without some assurance he will play there.
