The Washington Post's Jason La Canfora says that Rex Ryan doesn't want to go to Washington in a lateral move.
If the Skins can only get Ryan by giving him the head coaching job, then perhaps they should. Anyone but Jim Fassel. La Canfora writes that Fassel may not get the gig if Ryan isn't on board. Washington's search now seems more unclear than ever.
Sucks about Ryan. GW is a very good DC, but it would've been nice to get someone who is good at building a dline and runs a defense that can generate a pass rush without blitzing.

Are the Ryan brothers.......the sons of Buddy Ryan?
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
I'm tellin' ya. You have to ignore the media. They have no solid info, just pieces.
They slap together what few things they hear, and fill in the blanks. They look to each other for validation. So, if Bram Weinstein hears that Jim Fassel was here, he assumes that the jet that was sent to Scottsdale, Arizona was for Fassel, thus making it his second interview, and that since that interview happened before GW's interview, then Fassel must be the favorite, and if he's the favorite, then Al Saunders must be getting fired too. Since Al Saunders hasn't interviewed for the HC position, then he must have fallen out of favor with Dan Snyder, and so on, and so on.
Then ESPN, reads what Bram says, and reports that "sources close to the Redskins organization (being Bram) have reported..."
Then the Washington Post reports that "ESPN has confirmed that..."
and before you know it, a bunch of knucleheads are standing outside of Ashburn with Jim Fassel protest signs.

I believe that you are right, Rex Ryan is the son of Buddy Ryan.

Rex Ryan is indeed, the spawn of Buddy. Makes me nauseous thinking of that line of genetics on the Redskins sideline.
Buddy Ryan was the "AntiGibbs". Fortunately, good conquered evil in those days. Gibbs was among the first to solve the 46.

Wait for the Press release from the Redskins
Classic! I concur. Other than knowing that the Danny is meeting with coaching prospects, all we hear are rumors and speculation.

Rex Ryan denied Thursday that he's spoken to other teams about defensive coordinator positions. Ryan hopes to remain the DC in Baltimore, but wants a raise. "I hope everything works out financially, but I'm going right to my office at the Ravens tomorrow," he said. Ryan sounds willing to work for coach John Harbaugh.
Chargers denied the Redskins permission to interview QBs coach John Ramsdell and signed him to a three-year contract extension.
The Redskins intended to interview Ramsdell for their offensive coordinator or QBs coach job. Rex Ryan (Ravens) and Jim Zorn (Seahawks) also appear to be staying with their clubs, according to the Washington Post.

And what did Gibbs solve this time? NOTHING
I have no idea what your point is (I doubt that you do, as well). The FACT is, Gibbs pretty consistently kicked Buddy's butt. The Ryans do not belong in the House that Gibbs built. That's just obscene.
