Breaking News on Coach Search... [With news-like content]

Post by jazzskins »

...nothing has actually happened.

We haven't hired anyone. We haven't offered anything. We haven't fired anyone. Every coach who was here last year (except Gibbs of course) is still here.

Stay tuned for more non-news!

There's nothing BS about this thread. I've wasted no more of your time than every press person out there making baseless claims....or every poster who says, "It's official. We hired Fassell....Oh wait, nevermind."

This is a reminder that for all of the panicking that the board members are doing nothing has actually happened.

Was the title deceiving? Oh well. I'll accept that criticism.

Soooo, what exactly does this thread have to do with a.) the topic at hand, b.) the Redskins, or c.) football in general?

It is a waste of time. Even moreso because I'm sitting here typing this when I could be scouring the rest of the interwebs trying to figure out just what in the hell is going on tonight...

So, what you're saying is that I'm wasting your time when you could be wasting your time elsewhere?

About 1 and half ago there was an article on washintonpost.com that said Fassell likely to be named head coach. The article went on to say maybe as early as tomorrow, the article was revised and was added on to and the headline changed to "Focus on Zorn".....but it still says team sources say that he will most likely be the next coach. I pray so bad that this does not come true...all though even if not him more than likely it wont be Williams especially with how hard they are apparently going after Ryan. Now reported that Zorn will get an offer that he cant refuse from Seattle owner and will most likely not be accepting the job from us. I think going after these coordinators is ridiculous we went 9-7 when our best player was murdered, 5 other starters we lose for the season, multiple starters missed multiple games with injuries what these team accomplished this year and how they accomplished made me damn proud to be a Redskins fan and to watch Snyder tear the camaraderie apart just breaks my heart....

But you're not a press person, at least not here. They get paid to write, do you? I doubt it. You're supposed to be one of us, wanting to know the truth....turns out, you just like wasting our time....

But that is just the point....Snyder hasn't done anything. he has interviewed a bunch of people, and a bunch of other people have jumped to conclusions. Reporters are paid to write stories, and they aren't beyond fishing for a story. The truth is that the Redskins have been very, very quiet and haven't officially released anything to the media. They haven't officially named any interview participants. So, everything that you read is from "an unnamed source," or "a person close to the organization." I met George Allen junior a few times....does that make me a person close to the organization?

Now, if Snyder actually does something. If he hires Matt Millen, or Jeff George of the Offensive Coordinator, then I will be right there with you tearing Danny a new one. But until in the meantime its all speculation.

I repeat, Nothing has actually happened!

If your time was that precious you wouldn't be wasting it here. If your time is indeed that precious then why are you arguing with me about how precious it is?

You want some "real" breaking news?

http://www.hogshaven.com/story/2008/1/23/224358/956

a Redskins' source said late Wednesday he has not yet been offered the position and that club officials might still decide to wait until after Super Bowl XLII to interview one or more assistants from the franchises involved in the championship game.

Team and league sources also insisted that Washington defensive coordinator Gregg Williams... is still a candidate for the position.

Once again a "nothing has happened, but we need an excuse to keep our jobs" article.

http://coveringtheredskins.blogspot.com/2008/01/january-23-looks-like-no-announcement.html

Things are trickling out, but now it appears the Redskins will not name Jim Fassel their head coach tomorrow as has been widely reported..

Could it be that all of this hub-bub was for nothing? Could it be that the press got all excited over nothing at all? Could it be that they don't know any more than you or I?

Look! its very obvious that we don't want Greg Williams because we would of never tried to bring in Fassuel or Rex Ryan.

No, it's not. A good owner will interview a number of candidates whether he (or she) has the intention of hiring them or not. It is done for a number of reasons that we have already discussed on this board. Interviewing someone means absolutely nothing....interviewing them twice doesn't mean much either.

What we have is a lot of people trying to earn thier next bonus and to impress thier editor. They are taking guesses and hoping that they are right. Until it is announced then all of this is just "wasting time," because we don't know what is really going on at Casa de Snyder, or who has really been there.

For the record - I recognized and appreciated the sardonic humor.

Some of you people are so uptight that you could likely turn a piece of coal into a diamond with your butt.

And this was the best non-news of the day!
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
