most here respect Joe Gibbs and while we understand we have mixed feelings about his departure - most here are not as religious as Gibbs but we all would have our families fairly high on our priorities.
That don't mean it don't hurt people. I know It is upsetting to me. And in some ways I feel the same. He's leaving us high and dry. He was brought to bring us back to glory, which he has not done. He's won a playoff game and has made much improvement.
He is NOT leaving us "high and dry" - we are not in bad shape and I felt that if we could have beaten Seattle we would almost certainly have beaten the pukes (Owens is not playing well) and maybe even the Packers to play in the Super Bowl.
We are in pretty decent shape as a team and need to add some depth and some players to be a contender each year - this is mostly due to Joe Gibbs.
Some here have used Norv and Wade P as examples. But these are examples of ready made SB contending teams, and that is NOT what we are.
No, Im not mad at Joe, and I respect his reasons for leaving. I have two kids myself and one on the way (soon to be three boys, My mother thinks Im trying to make a football team). I would be gone also. But that don't mean that it don't upset people.
I mean we do have to go through this now, that in itself is disheartening, and frustrating, being that we have come so far just to start over.
I can see that side of it, but I don't hold it againt Gibbs for it. It is a very respectable reason to leave.
Actually there are many pluses to his leaving and I think he chose to leave because he thinks it might be best for the team in the long run - he has set the table for us and now hopefully Snyder will continue to help whomever is the next HC to continue the good work.
